I read somewhere that gmmtv is planning to release 9 new bls and 2 gls in 2025. Can they give one bl to TayNew please? And not with just some lame ass storyline. They deserve a substantial plot with solid characters and a meaningful relationship. They really have so much potential. Oh what I'd give to see them in a genre similar to NOT ME or HISTORY 3 TRAPPED.
Although I can't help being doubtful. With the number of ships that gmmtv now has, it's difficult to expect anything from them. Plus they've run out of ideas.
I'm really loving how so many new people are coming here to shower love on this show ♡♡♡
And yes, please do not trust mdl ratings guys. This show is one of the best coming of age love stories. Even though there are millions of other things to watch these days, most of them aren't good or memorable enough. This is one of the very few shows that sticks with you and makes it's own special place in your heart. Keep supporting it while waiting for season 2 & try to give it good ratings on mdl & imdb if you can :)
Hot take: The only ones with interesting storylines were from the supporting castsTaiwan and its compulsiveness…
First of all it's not an incestuous drama. Not even one bit. Both the leads are not related by blood. Neither did they grow up together as family. Second of all, I've read the novel so I can tell you they won't ever become step brothers even in the future because their parents are not going to get married, ever. The step bro trope is just there to bring hurdles in their love story.
I personally don't like step bro thingy myself but this one isn't creepy & weird like other similar shows. It's beautiful & wholesome. You're probably the first one I've come across who thinks the teachers stole the show, so that's new. I failed to see any chemistry between them. Had to skip their scenes. Especially the ones where that English teacher tried to butt in.
Spoiler alert ⚠️ the two teachers are already an established couple in the novel. They didn't have any kind of lame love triangle thingy going on which is anyway too childish for such grown ass adults. The makers just stretched their story in the drama and didn't make them a couple yet to give more screentime to the English teacher as they had signed a contract with her company.
I absolutely loved everything in the show except the teachers and their unnecessary push & pull game so I guess I'm a complete opposite of you.
I've just finished episode 1, and I'm not feeling it. Does it get any good? I don't mind spoilers. Right now I'm…
You're gonna start liking Tian as you continue watching. He's just emotionally closed off because he fears attachment. He has abandonment issues so he tries not to get too close to people. There's a reason he's cold & aloof. His story is revealed in the later episodes. But Sheng Wang will unknowingly break his walls bit by bit each episode. Both the leads had tough childhoods. Especially Tian. I'd suggest you to keep watching for atleast 5-6 episodes and then decide whether you should finish it or not because the story develops very gradually unlike usual bls where moments start happening from the 1st episode only. It's based on the novel which is also very long and detailed & they tried to stay true to it as much as they could. But I assure you Tian is the greenest flag ever! And don't miss the post credits— Jiang Tian's very moment. It shows Tian's perceptive in certain moments and they're super heartwarming :)
Call me crazy, but I love the product placements. I think they're just 'part of' the BL series culture at this…
Product placements snatch away the soul of the scene most of the times. They make it obvious that it's just some actors acting and trying to make money, nothing is real. The on1y one didn't advertise any products so it felt very realistic and soulful.
A couple of months ago I've heard about this drama before its release and decided to read the novel in advance.…
I'm just the opposite. I'm reading the novel after watching the drama and I must say I personally enjoyed the show more than the novel. It's a comparatively easier approach. I find it easier to watch the show and then imagine the actors as leads in the novel rather than reading the novel first and then trying to fit their faces into my already vivid imaginary figures of the characters.
I also found the show more emotionally charged than the book. Certain things like subtle changes in expressions, the intensity of eye contacts, confusion & emotional outbursts like crying and screaming are depicted on the screen better than the novel. I think Benjamin and Eric did total justice to the characters despite being a decade older than them. Infact, the best thing about the show is the lead actors for me. They were so good in their craft that I easily overlooked the flaws.
As for the scenes that you mentioned, It was the director's choice to add these. The stripping scene was unnecessary I agree but I think he added the kissing stuff to give the audience some tease because there's no obvious romance and physical intimacy and there were actually many people crying here & there about lack of intimacy. I didn't mind that because their bonding was so beautiful and deep that there was no need for them to touch every now and then to showcase their feelings. Really liked the slowburn.
I'm glad they were chosen regardless of their age because now I can't imagine anyone else playing Jiang Tian & Sheng Wang better than these two. Even in their interviews you can tell how much they love and enjoy playing these characters. An actor should be passionate about playing a character especially the ones they find challenging. Acting as teenagers when you're pushing 30 is not that easy but the guys pulled it off beautifully and that's because they're experienced. Not to mention the most important aspect of this show—the chemistry. They nailed it 🤌🏻 I didn't care about the teachers in the show and so I don't care about them in the novel either so I let that thing slide. The friend circle is also very adorable and the dynamic is super natural both in the novel and the show.
Omg guys I've been really busy these days I didn't have the time to check for updates or to watch the live. Finally tuned in today and the first thing I did is check this page and gosh I can't explain how happy I am after reading all your comments about the live 🥺
I literally screamed when I read that season 2 is happening 🥺 big fat congratulations and thank you to everyone for being so dedicated and consistent with all your efforts and support. The imdb ratings have also jumped up to 9/10 😭💗
We're one big family now. Let's wait for the official announcement & keep supporting the show and the cast just like this!!
Yea I do agree that everyone has different taste and I fully respect that. I dropped The Only One because it was…
Omg sameeee. Itsay is my fav show!! I liked Bad Buddy a lot but not as much as I adored ITSAY. But The On1y One managed to surpass all my favorite shows and made it's way to the top!!
I think only Peach can decide whether Home deserves to be forgiven or not. If Home's family hadn't interfered so much, things wouldn't have gone so wrong. From what we've seen so far, you can tell Home is not a bad person. He made a grave mistake, he felt guilty and he wanted to confess. But everytime he wants to make things right, they force him to do what they think is best. He gotta break free from these people. They're toxic.
LOL it's very disgusting this drama is so underrated . If it would be full of NC then people must give this drama…
What's more disgusting is people calling us homophobic because we love this show. Why would homophobic people ever tune in to watch two boys falling in love? Apparently if you watch a show without kisses and NC scenes, you hate sex between two men and you hate gay people. Logic left the chat. And when you try to argue and tell them that this show is more about love and feelings so there's nothing wrong with us liking it, you get blocked :)
if he hadn't made such a boring BL series, he wouldn't have problems with ratings
See it hit a nerve right? That's the reason I mentioned that. I don't actually think people who like watching intimate scenes are fetishizers or addicts trust me I'm a thirsty mf myself. I just wrote that to counter your "homophobic" logic. We can't just label people based on what they like to watch now can we? It makes you come across as a judgemental person. I'm an atheist bisexual woman myself so I don't know why would you assume I won't like watching two men kiss lmao. I'm all for girls kissing girls and boys kissing boys. You didn't enjoy this show it's okay that's your opinion but the way you judged people who did enjoy it, can rub others the wrong way. Some people prefer softer romance. There's a reason why Kdramas suddenly became so popular. They give slow burn and build up. Who doesn't like some kissing and skin ship? But even if it's not there it's fine cuz the romance is implied. It makes you crave for more and I like that feeling. That's all. I loved the untamed for the same reason as well. I'd suggest you to watch I TOLD SUNSET ABOUT YOU. Judging by your watchlist, I think you'll like it. It's cute, hot and aesthetic coming of age story of two boys.
Although I can't help being doubtful. With the number of ships that gmmtv now has, it's difficult to expect anything from them. Plus they've run out of ideas.
Still manifesting TayNew 2025 for my sanity 🤞🏼😭
