Bai Lu, Li Qin and Li Yitong all have the same "look". In terms of acting IMHO Bai Lu is the best of the lot but Li Qin is the most lovely.

Well you could try to read the book. I believe that to the extent not impacted by censorship, the drama and how it ends closely follows the novel. That includes Gu Fengén's part. It is just bad luck this was came out during HK protests so everything to do with overthrow and rebellion was extra sensitive and the ending got decimated. Audience feedback was also not good due to the excessive angst and so this was commercially a flop. Rightly or wrongly, the scriptwriter who is also the novelist was not re-hired when they re-shot and repackaged some of the remaining episodes into this special. They ended it the way she did in the book but she claims oh she would have made it happy. I just think whatever, too little too late.
I doubt the original episodes ever get released and certainly not anytime soon.

Both characters come across better here than they do in the book.

Of course I have to be watching another drama that profiles serial killers as " socially awkward single men who live by themselves..." lol.

The novel is very slow burn with some beautiful romantic writing but I found it quite boring, I only made it through a bit over half. I enjoyed One and Only A LOT more than the novel and so far this is OK, its a lot like the novel but the leads acting is elevating it a bit.

I have never been to a Chinese wedding with that few tables. Even small ones have at least 30.

For VIP in the first week they dropped 6 episodes on Monday and will drop another 2 for Tuesday and Wednesday. After that it should be 6 episodes a week from Monday to Wednesday. Not sure if they will accelerate it further.
