Are there two dramas with the same title? I thought you’d already finished this one a while ago 🤔
No it is the same drama I started long ago. Not a dialect I fully understand - I needed subs to watch it and my constant tearing up ☺️made it an even slower process...

Allen Ren's dramas are no kissing, because the respect he has to his girlfriend (he said it himself) , so yeah,…
I totally respect that but I think if that is the case, then he shouldn't accept one romance drama after another. I mean there are lots of other genres and roles where the audience doesn't expect that so he should go play those roles instead.

Anyway I caught the first episode. Its really meh. Even the prospect of kiss scenes can't tempt me to watch this.

Dude this type of drama will have a sad ending or a cliffhanger 😭
It doesn't matter - the best ones like Lurk 潜伏 were such huge classic hits bc of their unforgettable endings.

From the cast list it looks like he won't be back. I am fine with it either way- his portrayal of his character…
Ah ok oops... got it... I am incapable about raving at length (tldr) about any actor so I only skimmed that post and missed it.

Title Joy of Life Season 2 Spoiler
From the cast list it looks like he won't be back. I am fine with it either way- his portrayal of his character…
I didn't read the novel by YBY was the only character that IMHO was not well acted to the same level as the rest of the cast. He was so obvious in his acting that it ruined the surprise twist ending for me I saw it coming a mile away. So I don't mind if he is replaced by someone of Liu Xueyi's calibre. Esp if his heart is not going to be in playing a support role given his current status.

Not sure what you mean about the 'nearly murdered him' thing. If you mean by how the end twist is resolved I have avoided spoilers on it so while I have my own theories of what happens next, your guess is as good as mine on that one.

Sigh! Those were the good days. I am a huge tapas fan and Barcelona is chef's kiss in terms of how great it is for that. I was literally there during the 2010 World Cup final Spain vs Netherlands I think I watched it at a bar in the Olympics village. I feel like I am living in a Xianxia and that was my last incarnation or something.

It is a very passionate language. Great place, I used to go to eat every other year before the pandemic.

Review Young Blood
Yeah thanks so much for the watch recommendation. I absolutely loved the ensemble cast - not as polished an effort…
Well I did notice in Young Blood that his nose is slightly crooked but that is what I found charming and saves him from having just a handsome but forgettable face. Its kind of sad that he felt the need to fix it like that... its like Jennifer Gray from Dirty Dancing who got a nose job and faded into obscurity after that. So when you mentioned it I was like OMG NO!!!

I'm super happy you liked this, the ensemble camaraderie is my favourite part of the drama. I'm such a sucker…
Yeah thanks so much for the watch recommendation. I absolutely loved the ensemble cast - not as polished an effort as Joy of Life but I actually like the team dynamic better than just revolving around one character. And for young actors its the best way to get them started - a lot of times they are in roles they cannot carry yet.
I will keep 舞乐传奇 for a rainy day - the location looks interesting.
I still can't stop laughing over Wang Kuan's nose job I even went and googled it. wipes tears.

I don't know why people are so hyped about the Xiao Zhan guy, but I'm SUPER EXCITED to see Wang QiNian and DuoDuo…
From the cast list it looks like he won't be back. I am fine with it either way- his portrayal of his character made no impact on me from S1 and he is not what I am anticipating S2 for. There is a rumor that Liu Xueyi is replacing him in S2, which is great bc that kind of complex role is the kind of role Liu Xueyi excels in. But its so far still just a rumor unfortunately.

Lol - Its really fun I can't believe I took so long to watch it! But with this I am pretty much blowing my way through all the good stuff I stashed away for a rainy day.

Yes I think it is realistic that young people tend to get swept away by the movement itself more than any deep rooted ideology. And in any case iQiyi and New Classics Media are out to make money with this and ideological themes a big yawn for mainstream Chinese audiences today. It looks more likely they will appeal to the rising tide of nationalism to make this just about Chinese people uniting to expel foreigners (not just Japanese) from their country. Performance is outstanding but the characters are not as colourful or as interesting as other dramas from this period.

I believe that it is quite well accepted and understood that sadly the Kuomintang did not cover themselves in glory during this period and it is one of the reasons for their downfall, ideology notwithstanding.

I think it’s fair and accurate to say at the time the young were inspired by many ideas but I am not picking up a communism is cool vibe from anything presented so far.

I agree, the characters here are much more well developed. I also noticed Wang Kuan and Prince An are same archetypes.
