The Anle book is much better fleshed out that WOH was. But yes I agree a re-write would be not a fun project whoever gets it. But I think the guy is almost going to have to be replaced, netizens really want him booted off.

Youku wants this director/writer team on projects together going forward. Last I heard there is a huge push to make it happen, especially given the train wreck that is ALP, another S-category project but by Tencent. The general consensus among industry insiders is that besides questionable casting, the adaptation is atrocious - like someone said to me it is horrifying example of how it is even possible to destroy a great IP and it was written by the Anle scriptwriter. Youku is not gonna flush a ton of money on something that is going to bomb out like ALP if they can help it. The main issue, which I think you are pointing out is that the script is pretty much done. But as you know, it often undergoes extensive modification at the director's request during filming. In any case, I hope they manage to rope her her in as well but so far I haven't seen anything official and I think it is also fair to say it probably won't be fun for her so maybe that is the issue.
There is an alternate ending. You can search for it. But I accept the ending as is.

I only watched Journey of Flower where she was forgettable cute. Story of Minglan I find to be a miraculous natural sleeping aid. Sigh - if its really true about her and ZZH I guess I will have to try to watch...🧐

LoL, I skimmed parts of the Anle novel its actually fairly good it heavily focuses on revenge. They are touting it as a female NIF on some of the Chinese sites but I wouldn't go that far bc to me its obvious that NIF is better written. That said, if the WOH scriptwriter is involved, she can elevate the drama and make it better than the novel.

I dropped every Dilraba drama outside of TMOPB and TLB. I still have goosebumps from those long monologues where she just talks to herself in a Tweety Bird voice in Eternal Love of Dream but she did improve quite a bit in TLB. Let's hope GJ inspires her to new heights. They will look great together.

I am not watching The Flaming Heart and Begin Again because I don't watch modern c-dramas unless they are crime thrillers, not because I am avoiding seeing our boys paired up with others but I am reassured to hear that it isn't weird...

I think Wulei is the better more experienced actor for sure but Dilraba improved a lot in TLB but she still has room to grow. I think a good scriptwriter and the right ML can do wonders for her so fingers crossed for Anle. Dilraba doesn't have any exclusive with Tencent but GJ is now with YK I think its a multi-year contract... Dilraba is managed by Yang Mi, she is very savvy about those kinds of things...

I don’t PTW Flaming Heart so I can just pretend it doesn’t happen LOL. I got very put off by ZLY in LOF. She acted like she didn’t want to be there. So I think she has a bad attitude and is a bit of a prima donna. ZZH always acts his heart out he deserves being teamed up with someone with a better work attitude.

Me too... I have a soft spot for Dilraba after TLB but I am not ready for my GJ to be with anyone but ZZH. But the really cringe rumour has been ZZH + ZLY. That would just make me retreat into the fetal position.
