Of course, history is written by the victors.

Excellent spy story, great visuals, music and scenography. Shanghai in the '30s is really well done. There is a…
So far, I haven't seen any gross Chinese communist propaganda. In fact, the book the main CP bond over Leaves of Grass is the greatest work of Walt Whitman, widely regarded as America's greatest democratic poet and that work captures some of his most praised democratic ideas. It rather surprises me that the scriptwriter, who is obviously very well read in Western literature wrote the character of a "stupid communist FL" who seems to be inspired by the works of O'Henry, Walt Whitman and Victor Hugo, none of whom can be described as communists.

Which party does CMQ stand with? I know China is reigned by CCP so I suppose the other party is the rival? So…
CMQ and LNS are both Kuomintang and they are in charge, especially in Shanghai where this is set. Everyone else is CCP. The Japanese will enter the picture soon.

This is an awesome drama! Su Xiao Tong's character here is both similar and different from her character in 'The…
I like her much better in this. Her personality is not so at odds with the character she is playing and she has good development.

Surprisingly enjoyable flaws, low budget and all. Really like that none of them are really good people... except maybe the wife.

I really like to watch c-drama which is the main cast using a "fan" as their weapon ^^ such as Shangguan Tou by…
It used to be very popular - one of the villains in Legend of Condor uses it and of course it is the iconic weapon of Gu Long's Chor Lau-heung or Chu Liuxiang. But that series hasn't been remade recently so you will have to watch some really old stuff.

1. Dragon King. I didn't understand what kind of person he was, apart from being very stubborn. Is he a nice person?…
Very fair comments, you should add this to the reviews.

The real kicker, ep 34 - the end were actually good-ish.What a travesty. It's like interns produced and directed…
Yeah the last two episodes were much better but sadly most people got off the bus before getting there.
Bambi Zhu is a great actress she does the villain very well but her character here is written to be blank.

Wonderful article - you hit all the important points in a clear and efficient manner. As someone who really appreciates great acting, I love how Liu Yuning made me hate him in the beginning and love him at the end.

Your giving 7.5 score is very generous :D It scored lowly 3.8 in Douban, I don't even wanna bother to check this…

This gives me Fearless Whispers vibes, it's basically the same story but just the mentor is from the opposite…
I hope its not as slow as Fearless Whisper which I abandoned in the middle. Maybe in this one they will unite against the third side that is just entering/about to enter now...

Title Miss the Dragon Spoiler
It wasn't that bad because the FL is ultimately a mortal, she would have never been able to have more than a lifetime…
Well she is a princess but her name is Liu Ying again so its not a flashback bc the first Liu Ying was a maid. It could be a fifth life where she is about to meet dragon king or it could be a dream because it doesn't really follow from the ending. It was tossed out to appease inconsolable netizens at the sad or bittersweet ending. I guess people don't like the idea of their souls being used to guard or seal the heaven web forever. Apparently it is better than the game ending which is definitely sad. Its why I initially didn't bother to look for the Easter egg, I read that it makes it more confusing and now that I have seen it, I have to agree.

Yes but it is not a foregone conclusion she would have succeeded bc fate deity's intent was to consume her soul before she succeeded.

I don't know where the Easter egg is - someone else mentioned it and I was fine with the ending as is so I never looked for it. I think it may still be behind a paywall but it may show up for free later on.

Ah ok, I didn't know you are not done - won't spoil you further then. Just watch and see for yourself. I didn't love many things about this show but the ending was fairly good IMHO.
