You could say that of ELOD, which I dropped after 25 episodes of listening to Dilraba talk to herself... I almost skipped this bc I was so traumatized by her. Even my then 11 year old niece asked me why she was so silly. I ended up reading the book instead, which was great but I never revisited the drama. So fingers crossed re The Blue Whisper but with this dude you never know. I think a lot depends on who the script writer is as well.

Yes this is one of those dramas where I don't like the FL even though I love Li Yitong. I don't need her too be so goody goody. To survive in the palace you need to be slightly ruthless and decide who you want to save. Prince Liang has preyed on countless helpless women. Letting him die without a second thought does not make her a bad person. Her Mother Theresa instincts are going to result in people she loves dying. How stupid is that?

Well the way this drama is telling it, it looks like the crown princess through her willfulness has brought about the downfall of the crown prince. He always had poor judgement but started to really unravel after Chen Ji was killed. Ying Ying may have not done the same thing. More importantly, it seems that the crown princess is going to bring down Chu Mu's sister. Now that would be really sad. And it will ruin any prospect of her sister and Chu Mu's youngest brother's relationship. So I would say that was a big ass mistake on their part.

I would add Ashile Sun publicized her "death" so that people would stop looking for her to help her disappear.

Yes that is what I was hinting at without wanting to potentially spoil anyone and it neatly avoids tragedy route - I saw the speculation re: one of them is the real Duke Chang which doesn't work from an age point of view and if they are an alternate heir, I have seen enough of these drama to know how that typically ends...

Changge's tutor was Wei Zheng - the greatest Tang prime minister. She was also very close to Li Shimin, who was a great general with many military victories before his father overthrew the emperor and seized the throne.

There are links in the discussion threads to the backstory. Her uncle Li Shimin/emperor Taizong did kill both his brothers in a struggle for the throne. The incident was known as the Xuanwu gate incident.

She was a real tomboy, interested in martial arts and schooled by the best tutors in the nation who end up as advisers to Li Shimin'/Taizong on matters of state including military strategies. She was also very close to her uncle Li Shimin who was one of the top generals with many battle victories to his name. And yes, some suspension of disbelief is needed on that point but a lot of people (AvenueX) rant about this point without giving proper credit that the backstory does try to explain why she is so capable at such a young age.

The sad truth is Lu Yingying is a much nicer person. But thanks to Fu Rou and Chu Mo's meddling, the crown princess is this crazy insecure b*tch....

I agree there are other good side mysteries and he may or may not be the main instigator. i hope neither of the boys are actually potential challengers to the throne so any questions around their birth is a different plot thread. If one of them is a potential challenger, it is just not gonna end well for them so I don't want to see that.
