I have never let a thread determine what I watch or not watch. And frankly speaking, this is one of the nicest, most constructive threads I have been on on MDL. If this scares you off, then good luck watching any other c-drama. Maybe you just swung by on a really bad day. In any case, just trying to say this is a great drama. If you don't like the thread, watch it anyway and don't visit but if you do, no one bites here.

I caught a few episodes with the Youtube subs recently and I think that the existing subs are actually quite decent but still have room for improvement. Hopefully without the constraint of censorship (Youku has to ultimately toe the line) Netflix can go a few steps further.

My favourite dramas are all deeply flawed. I think it has to do with that je ne sais quoi that makes you addicted no matter the shortcomings and even if you see it and can even describe and acknowledge it. Not being able to find words to express why its so perfect for you is another sign of THOSE kinds of dramas... I still hover on this thread even though I have said all that I can think of to say.

He is an amazing singer and he actually did a great job in TLB as Haodu.

I was so sad they killed of Han wang fei... crazy I don't even know her name but I loved her. Now I hate the empress I was happy she died and I hate Fu Rou for being such a busybody and intervening where she has no business, thus helping the ungrateful and evil crown princess attain her position. I can't forgive her I don't even care anymore if she has a happy ending.

Ye Hua is the ML in Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms or Eternal Love which is the silly MDL/Netflix title. Its a bit dated by current standards but its what got me addicted to c-drama and the character is one of a kind. I actually like Ning Yi better bc he is darker. The Untamed never resonated with me but I think I am just an outlier.

Seriously he is right up there with Ye Hua and Ning Yi for me.

That was the sexiest half spoken line in the entire drama. And his expression was perfect.

It is very good, I am trying to save it so that I can binge the final episodes at one go. Otherwise I forget where they are with the mystery I have to rewatch.

Agree re Imperial Coroner, I am at 22 but trying to hoard the episodes bc the next batch won't come until Thursday but I am already out of stuff to watch so I may have to cave and watch a few more...

Heheh... my TV lives in constant danger. I am in a grumpy mood I think I will choke on too much sweetness at the moment... I just glowered my way thru 12 episodes of that Bambi xianxia... I do think Imperial Coroner is very good but I am trying not to watch it too quickly bc there are slim pickings out there...

Yeah hopefully some novel readers can tell us whether this is deviating from the novel and how bc I am about to throw rocks at my TV.

She is evil beyond redemption. The most wicked creature in this drama.

This is based on what is supposed to be a good novel. Idk how they can run out of ideas or wreck the characters like this. I say this without reading the novel.

This is classic vastly overrated Yuzheng. He is great at making very pretty pictures that makes no sense.

In the real world Chu Mu would be single forever bc no woman is that devoted.

I am not ready to rate it.

He lives long enough to talk so much without naming Fu Shui. OMG, this scriptwriting is so bad. The villains are not smart it is just the scriptwriter is helping them.
