Indeed - he has no comedic timing. But the script is also not witty/humorous enough. Not all on him.
Regardless of whether the character is intended to be funny, there were quite a few awkwardly comedic moments that just didn't land. I don't have any problem with the way the character is developing, I am just agreeing with @inksplosh that the attempts at comedy were cringe.
This was clearly written by a different writer than MLC but so far I would not say it is more serious or profound than MLC. Sometimes humor is a way of conveying layers of depth. Seems to me we are just watching different dramas. I am also familiar with both writers, I like them both but they are quite different.

Fushanhai should be pretty good, the production team is strong although I am skeptical about Gulenezer. Tales of Dark River could also be pretty good. But the ones I am really waiting for are Swords into Plowshares, Strange Tales 3 and The Fated General.

Thanks for sharing. I did come across that clip and it is exactly what I mean by trying too hard to be funny. To me, it wasn't funny bc the FL knew she wouldn't die and that woah its so far down!!! bit has been done to death. The writing style and humor is usually clear from the first episode - I can usually tell right off the bat whether I like the writing or not. From your clip, it is obvious that it goes on. I am genuinely happy you enjoyed the drama a lot of people I respect did. But it is a very long drama to watch for someone who is super busy and doesn't enjoy bordering on slapstick humor. As for fandom vs haters etc, that stuff bores me I couldn't care less about it.

I bumped mine up for the fun factor and the fight scenes. I think when actors do their own stunts and do them well they need to be recognized/differentiated.
