She knows more about the story of the burning of the temple that she wouldn't reveal to An. I do wonder whether that is a motive to keep her alive? And if Ruyi Pavilion is just a one woman show, what is the value of it to Prince An - as in what use is taking it over? How did she get her hands on so many secrets as a one woman operation? If that is the case, its a rather thin plot... Furong's dad I believe is a district magistrate. I slightly suspect him because he must have some association with Ruyi Pavilion - allowing both his daughters to be disciples of Ruyi and helping her expand her business...

As others have said, it is clear some scenes were cut making the transitions a bit odd. And the missing dreams made Fu Rong to me seem like a total flake in the beginning for all her totally loony antics with Su. I was rolling my eyes thinking this is yet another airhead FL but at least her comedic timing is decent... Although she has since grown on me, I still don't have the best impression of her and a lot of it has to do with her inexplicable behavior in the beginning.

1. Who do we think murdered her? Prince An or Xindu gang?
2. Is she a one woman show at Ruyi Pavilion the secret society? Surely she has other people around her? Who? Fu Rong's dad?

I think it just has to do with episode limits and iqiyi had discretion over which parts to take out. Hopefully they just took out non important parts. As you can see from the above thread, actually Astro aired all the dreams. I just think iqiyi decided to edit them out for their own reasons. They did the same thing with Evil Minds - just cut the last 1.5 episodes out to change the ending.

The Chinese version is the same as the international one. I have access to both.

It sounds interesting thx for the suggestion but I never get momentum with k-dramas since I need to read subtitles. I am usually half working when I watch at night so its much easier if I can just listen to the dialogue.

Yeah although she is executing her role well, she is just not good at comedy. She is not an innately funny person. I do like the premise of a story around a successful silk merchant but if there is a plot it hasn't revealed itself.

From what I understand (and I can totally be wrong), anything that gets released in whateve form pretty much passed the Chinese censors and it is very common to have different cuts. Some could be just be iqiyi (bad?) editing decisions. I just find we conveniently blame the censors for anything and everything even when it don't make sense. The cut content is not controversial. I think iQiyi was just being assinine about it nothing more nothing less.

I really like both leads but this show is somehow... boring... I fell asleep half way in Ep 9 and woke up not feeling like watching anymore. Think this is one of those I end up dropping from just loss of interest or curiousity to continue...

Its so funny but given the turn in his character, I can't even see anymore what I used to think was hot about him....

Yeah serve him right for never ascending to the throne... Talk about the complete antithesis of a true and just ruler. He would be lopping peoples heads off left and right at the flimsiest of excuses...
