I think its complicated. I think Zilong made a lot of mistakes but he has good intentions and he tried to make up for them and he treats her with respect and consideration. But he is afraid of his mother. And his mother did cause her father's downfall and the death of her aunt. She is a conflicted character. Later she will be forced to choose between her son and her family/Zidan. In that sense she will turn into her mother-in-law - torn between her son and her family. Also not that unlike Wang Xuan. Let's see what choices she will make.
