Yes indeed, I like slightly dark shows and dark comedies most of all. Sadly only the Westerners do those well. Other than that though the only Western ones I like are very similar to Asian drama mini-series like Breaking Bad or Musketeerss and not the episodic American shows that can go on forever with no ending. Some c-dramas have become almost episodic (My Roomate is a Detective) which I really don't like.

I decided to start Why Women Kill which is a dark comedy I have been saving. I love dark comedies and this is by the same producer of my all time favorite Desperate Housewives.

Seriously I can tell he is sucking in his belly button (how many times has my pilates coach drilled that into me?) and sticking his chest out to try to not look chubby and fight the unflattering effect of gravity on excess weight in the middle section. The hands on the waist provides some extra lift. I was rolling with laughter everytime he did that but notice in the later episodes he stopped because the hard work of being on set melted some pounds away.

[Sorry - I am just being obnoxious.... I tried to ignore this for days but I finally could not resist.]

They just hired him 1-2 weeks ago. I am sure it will take time but notice they translate everything into English now since they are going after international subscribers.

iQiyi is now competing with Netflix in Asia for international subscribers. They even just poached Netflix's Asia boss. There is almost zero chance they would license their exclusive content to Netflix from now on.

It just boggles my mind that Qing Ci went through all that trouble to keep Su Xuan alive for Yun Luo's sake but…
Yeah that whole thing didn't sit well with me either but I accept that leaving him ultimately leaves open the possibilty of usurping the throne. And his family and Suxuan has already sacrificed so much to keep Ai di alive all this time, they cannot do it endlessly. Qingci is supposedly dying anyway and Suxuan has no more martial arts neither of them are in a position to continue to protect Ai di. It is a ruthless decision and a sad one. The only sustainable alternative may have been to restore him to the throne but that may have been a bloody path forward and Ai di would have to be willing to commit fraticide. Nonetheless, I think there is no justice in this outcome making this a rather sad wuxia because their whole quest to begin with was to protect Ai di and they left a weak emperor on the throne in the end. A lot of lives were sacrificed for nothing.

Title The Eight Spoiler
The Eight r trying to disband and once they r free citizens they don’t need to abide that rules.
It’s true that he is not a master of a profession but he is the holder and thus their leader so the reason to ban marriage is to prevent imbalance power still holds no? I would say any master married to the holder is much more powerful than all the rest. But that said, did they actually get married? I mean was the ceremony completed?

Uhm.. .. did I miss something???? To maintain the balance of power, isn't it true that the leaders can't marry each other??? Isn't that why Hua Min Chu's parents did a big no no??? So WTF isn't him marrying the head of spies a big NO NO NO????

Lots of my friends kids in bilingual programs do it to practice their mandarin (and English) - LOL in case you wonder why sometimes it looks like its translated by teenagers... I am gonna encourage my nieces to do it too when they get a bit older. Most of them however are too young and not sophisticated enough to do more complex shows. This one would not be that easy but not super hard either and there are some that get into the classics and literature that I need my dad next to me to understand.

He's a seasoned actor, I can definitely see him make a good villain. Villain roles are so much more more fun and interesting anyway.

No worries. He was indeed thrown down a well at Zhengyang place - they carted his body back with them after he "died". Then we see a brief dark scene where he is retrieved and possibly revived by Qingci's disciple who must have smuggled him to safety. Honestly I have no idea why - it is a bit of a plot hole because in the end he served no purpose at Zhengyang place. Only reason I can think of is Qingci initially planned to use Suxuan to locate/retrieve Ai di and did not anticipate Chen would force him to destroy his own martial arts.

Yes Su Xuan is alive - Qingci tells Yunluo he is alive and if I remember correctly he sent him to his shifu. I think he tells her at the part near the end where she tells him she already gave ten years to save her shifu she is going to dedicate the rest of her life to save his.

My guess is if they had dared killed of this couple they would have a riot on their hands whereas most wouldn't have liked it but they were already half anticipating the first couple wouldn't make it.
