Indeed nothing is really that new in Wuxia. That said these dramas tend to trend and many in the current vintage seem to have MLs that can’t fight and may never acquire that ability. I don’t have a problem with brains over brawn but in an action heavy show it is less fun to see one person hiding I generally find it more fun if they kick ass together.

The first arc was excellent. Second arc so far is less exciting but still good.

Agree completely, really like Love in Between but am watching that with my friend and we agreed to wait for each other... Sadly I am in my busy mode for next couple of weeks so I didn't start anything else. Bummed bc I had high hopes for this.

Only skimmed the book it was darker but I kind of liked it.

Just got home after a business dinner (yes I miss lockdown) and am tempted to marathon the rest but the comments make me think nah, it can wait.....

Well if you like romances then Eternal Love or Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms is very addictive. You can also check out The Legends and Under the Power. Ashes of Love is the other big romance hit but I hated it and dropped. I haven't watched it but Romance of Tiger and Rose also got good reviews.

He is such a good actor but just had some bad luck lately - he apparently also did a really outstanding job in the last 12 episodes of Royal Nirvana that got censored and never aired. So frustrating, hope the next one works out as you said.

Actually the original synopsis looked so promising. I am sick and tired of historical romances I would never even have started this if the rest of the plot didn't sound intriguing. I don't know how they made such a huge mess of it.

There seems to be a trend of MLs that can't fight or can't fight as well as the FLs.... sigh! The women really have to do all the hard work!

You could try Love and Destiny where Ni Ni also plays the FL. I think ROP is much better despite the bad ending. There are not many shows like this.

Wow.... tons and tons of flashbacks (of long boring conversations no less) - no wonder they don't dare to charge extra for the rest of the show!!! At this rate, with the help of FF, it should be a piece of cake to speed throught the rest of this...

Oh thank Buddha they stopped using that ghastly pasty white foundation on Tou but it seems to have found its way onto Xuexi's face instead. What is wrong with these people???
