Is this show any good? It seems to be trending at #2 on iQiyi, behind Love Designer.
It is not great at all. I am only continuing because the only alternatives are light rom-coms that I am not in the mood for. This will be dropped the moment something better comes along.

Mujin is married to Feibai as a concubine. She is angry because she thinks Feibai is fooling around with her sister. I think it was only once. The twin does show up usually at night but sometimes I am also confused for awhile as to who is who.
Please which episode will Ye Chong and Chi Cheng discover they are from the same party.. I'm tired of the anxiety…
My guess is they will drag it until the bitter end. At that point, you will think they are both retards because OMG if its not obvious already then I dunno what kind of spies these dudes are.... like maybe the most incompetent in history ever.
Is this based on the movie Farewell my Concubine, or a different story entirely?
If you remember how Farewell My Concubine ended then you will see the similarities with respect to Chen Renxiang in episode 30-35. The actor for that role bears a certain resemblance to Leslie Cheung as well but I won't say more to avoid spoiling you.

Yeah I find Chi Cheng and Jin Xiang a much better written relationship and so much more interesting. They should just kill off He Ying and spare us all the misery -no self respecting spy story allows such a low survival instinct character to make it so far! And I am sad and sorry to discover Ren Jialun only has about 8 facial expressions and at this point I have seen them all ad nauseaum. All I need is one or two more interesting dramas to air for me to abandon ship on this one.
It has wonderful settings, costumes and everything but if you take a story and omit the main part, it leaves empty…
Too true - it is why Jackie Chan failed spectacularly in Hollywood. Hollow, shallow, empty were some of the kinder comments. He has gotten better but not much. I still found it very entertaining and I have seen much worse (My Roomate is.....)
