LOL thanks for the big push - I usually get over these dislikes so I just put it on hold for now until I do. I didn't like the girl in NIF2 either but I think she is pretty great in Love a Lifetime so one day I am sure I will be able to watch YZ in something.

LOL - I was late to the party and no way I was gonna watch 70 episodes without reading a bunch of reviews spoilers and all so by the time I watched it I knew the ending was going to be bad and all the issues with it. I just love Ning Yi's character so much and he really kept evoloving while staying consistent at the core I was riveted till the bitter end. He is my favorite c-drama ML character, there is no competition whatesoever, I can keep rewatching him. I really hated the last ~5 episodes they were really bad. I am a happy person I don't go out looking for tragedies just to get a good cry but I don't avoid them either. What I was upset about was they murdered Fang Zhiwei both literally and figuratively (whom I love love loved). And yes, I reviewed it, it is kind of long but I had a lot to say about it. I believe I read yours because I think (?) you mentioned the long hair there too... would have loved to have seen the real rant version!

Well Allen Ren should have a few more good years as lead in him... Also to be honest, I dunno how anyone is gonna be able to write a character that tops Ning Yi for Chen Kun... ROP is the only drama I ever started rewatching immediately after I finished.
OMG this is so accurately described it almost sent me into a slump!!! I usually switch to Western dramas, documentaries and books to get out of a slump.
What if one of them (more likely Changge) is the missing Emperor Ai? Not sure how much fictionalised history this…
I missed that about Changge and agree he is the one more strongly giving off the vibe. It has to be one of the boys that age. The only other possibility (if he is still alive) is that he is Manqing's fiancee from the Mu family.
Just pure speculation on my part re: Changge and Zhuyan's relationship (speculative spoiler - open with care):

He basically said he is in no mans land - aged out of ML but is too young to play the older weighty characters. I think we are unlikely to see him in costume drama ML again but he has two costume movies coming up soon... if they ever screen movies again. Yeah I thought no one would top Mark Chao's Ye Hua with the long hair and then along comes Chen Kun's Ning Yi and I am like huh... Ye who? He is still making modern dramas, I have 1949 on my PTW. And he is gonna be in Gong Xun, the patriotic show about Chinese legends with an all star cast - Lei Jia Yin, Hu Ge, Bai Qing etc...

Changsha is usually exactly my kind of show I tried to watch it but since AOL, Yangzi gives me rashes (I mean no offense if you like her/AOL). I put it on hold for now hoping eventually I get amnesia and will be able to watch Changsha with fresh eyes.
Wow! Really loving the ML - this is a man's man; none of that pasty white effeminate overly pretty ML we get too much of! YES! Two thumbs up! The two FLs though I have mixed feelings about - I dislike and distrust Zhong Yao character even though she is stunningly beautiful. And why is Tan Songyun's Xi Shui almost reprising her Under The Power character? Surely she can do better than that! Don't feel any chemistry with ML not to mention it is boring to see the same old same old from her. Still reserving judgement, the production value is amazing but am not sure about plot and I hate this period in Chinese history.
