This week we are finally we are getting some movement in this show.

Just started this - it is bizarre but good.

I suspect Ming Yefeng is her adopted brother. It is the only explanation I can think of for why he says she is his only relative and yet wants to make her his queen. Her parents (or mother) must have adopted him in when his family was killed. That is probably also why her mother gave him the same necklace and why young Hongyi used to call him gege. Her relationship with Hongshou would thus parallel her relationship with Ming Yefeng. It would also make her the bridge that unites the Baili family with Ming Yefeng. She however does not seem to like either of her "brothers" that way. If anything in the beginning I thought she had a thing for Hongxuan as she seemed jealous when he was getting married but that is obviously not the case.

Indeed but that was to compliment her ability to sniff out the truth... and because he thinks she is foxy/a babe. Fish face is just a sucker punch response.

The second brother Hongshou is in love with his adopted sister Hongyi. Its not clear if she reciprocates but this is the most obvious romance line. Ming Yefeng also appears interested in Hongyi. But he already has at least one (jealous) wife.

The older brother is newly married but seems to keep his wife at arms length although she is gaga over him.

Ty - for such a "controversial" drama, the opinions on it appear to be overwhelmingly one-sided. But I suspect we are not that alone...

hahahaha.... clever! I missed that pun on the name! She has grown on me now that she is less snipey...

There are at least 2 and possibly 3 couples but my sense is romance only peripheral in this show.

Random but it just cracks me up that she calls him fish face.

Indeed but that is hardly compatible with the requisite skills of a true crime solver, that lack of insight and inability to see the shades of grey. Maybe the division of labor is appropriate - she deals with cadavers and forensic "facts" while XS analyses the human nature aspects. Makes her very limited though, barely worthy of the Miss Truth title.

Let's hope not. If things don't start to happen soon I give up. They can have season 2 and 3 without me.

I am very confused about MYF's origins. I keep thinking MYF may be somehow related to Hongyi? Why was he with her family in the beginning when they were outcast and why does he have the same necklace that she has? The one left to her by her mother. Is it a symbol of some relationship that he has one too or were they engaged when they were children?

Thx, that's good to know she will grow on me... Judgy is indeed a great way to describe her - I mean I don't dislike her and maybe as you say, she just isn't written to be an easily likable a character.

Neither so far... I am not sure I like HER yet so I kind of don't care yet who gets the girl... I know she is new actress so am cutting her some slack but sometimes she is borderline bitchy and annoying to the ML. But I am still early in the show, she probably (hopefully) improves.

If you are re-watching it, you may want to consider watching it on Dramacool instead. The only reason I suggest that is I believe Dramacool's subtitles are from Astro and while not perfect, I think they are quite a bit better than Amazon Prime/Youtube version. For this show, good subs are really very important.

Yeah its why I am very hesitantly watching/still undecided.
