Is this drama similar to Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms but told from the angle of Bai Feng Jiu or is it a totally…
PB is their original story. TMOPB didn't have the rights to it so they kind of wrote their own version. As such, it is not going to be consistent and I wouldn't call it a sequel in the traditional sense. And although many actors including the ML/FL are reprising their roles it is obviously an entirely different production team.

Heheh I knew she was going to rant about it, that kind of stuff is her pet peeve. I usually don't mind that much but I already didn't love the overly bright celestial kingdom in TMOPB either but this takes it to an entirely new level of glaring vivid brightness. The lack of good body language type of communication is the bigger directing flaw to me anyway. This director is the same troll that made AOL and she is making Chinese Paladin 4and some other adaptation of Feng Shen as well. She is very well known for water injection (dragging out scenes forever). Sad.

Just completed 20th episode. I'm sorry but i hate a bit of Hua Wu Que's character who is really naive and a little…
He actually did a good job playing his father in the first episode. I don't know why he turned into a dead fish when he played Wu Que. Maybe its wrong interpretation or bad direction. Hopefully it improves after the brothers reunite.

Uhm can you read? I didn't comment about the actors at all. Just the director. If you can't read don't reply. In fact that is my point, it is not the actors fault that this is poorly directed. Indeed I am just agreeing with @Noelleung's point. If you don't like what people are saying don't read it.

This director really sucks. I don’t blame the actors or the story. Once I see it is her I know she is going to mess it up. People should give honest feedback about her otherwise she is going to keep wrecking dramas based on good books.

LOL I know its just a story but its so funny - this dude is not just an immortal he is literally the oldest immortal in the universe! How did he survive that long? Probably by not falling for anyone!

I cracked up at the OTP making eyes at each other in #10 in the middle of a battle field. So dangerous, talk about wrong time wrong place. With such low survival instinct how the hell did they get to become immortals!?!

I am really liking this young new actor that is playing Xiao Yu. He overacted in the beginning but now that he Is serious he is so good. And in ep 20 in his new disguise I almost don't even recognise him as Xiao Yu. I am very impressed. And the show keeps getting better I hope it keeps it up.

I don't know what I was thinking trying to watch this. I had to skip all their scenes in TMOPB. I thought I might…
From what I understand this is actually a better story than TMOPB. I read that book and frankly aside from a few really good lines that were reproduced in the drama, it wasn't that great of a book. The drama did a much better job of telling the story. I didn't read PB because it struck me as quite similar in terms of confusing writing with many flashbacks but I have heard that it is a much better story. From what I have seen so far though, this drama doing a very poor job of telling the story. It should not take 10+ episodes to get going. I think rather than regurgitate what others are already saying about how boring it is, it would be helpful to just identify the truly bad episodes - from what I have seen you can just skip 5 and 6 - the story goes nowhere and I wanted to stick a pencil in my eye they were so bad. I am only at 7 which is a bit better but I can't help beyond that. Be great (for me also) if others can chime in. I don't mind skipping episodes I don't need to watch more of FJ mooning over DJ - I got the point many episodes ago. Frankly the portrayal is an insult to teenagers (and I am a Dilraba fan) and inexcusable. Even my almost teenage nieces do not act so silly.

I actually really like them both. Wu Que is the perfect foil to Xiao'er - he would seem less interesting if Wu Que were more lively. It is a good story and both leads are doing a good job overall but it is obvious they are young actors - Xiao'er tends to overact while Wu Que underacts but it seems to be balancing out as we progress. I hope to see some bromance develop soon between the two. But this has surprised me positively so far. I am much less than mid-way though.

I'm into episode 12 but still not getting the excitement that everyone talking about. But will continue though…
Yeah same here - still on holiday and nothing to watch. But Handsome Siblings is actually quite good. It is not amazing but at least the story is great and I don't feel like I regressed into childhood, was trapped in my baby chair and forced to watch a bad Disney animation nightmare.

I always find it so interesting that book readers are more forgiving of most book adaptations because their favourite parts are visualised and they and look forward to more favourite parts acted out. Everything makes sense for them because they already know the story. For everyone else however, it just looks like a giant unlovable mess. The true test of whether the story is properly told is whether it engages people who don't already know the story. This is a very bad director - she is a big time waster and thinks her audience is retarded . She made a big mess of dragging out AOL forever as well so we are going to have to be VERY patient. The funniest thing someone told me was to wait until 2/3rds of AOL was done because it gets better at that point! If this one does not become interesting at 15, I am done. Knowing this troll director she will make us wait until well after half the show to give us any good stuff so best cut losses early.

Why this horrible director again??? I predict the first 10-20 episodes will be the most retarded mind numbingly boring fillers known to man. She should be arrested.

Person Chu Yui Bun
This director is so so so bad. All she does is make retarded and long and boring fillers with silly adolescent characters that are frankly an insult to the intelligence of all teenagers. She should not be allowed to make any more dramas from good books Banning her would be much more effective in raising the quality of c-dramas than putting on an episode limit.
