I don't know if I should be happy or sad that the extra episodes that end the show early is due to China's August…
That's so silly of them - they should just release all the most addictive purely entertaining ancient dramas out there into the anniversary. Its much better than having everyone so bored silly with propaganda that they start scouring the internet for "HK protests live"

It looks like I'm the only who sort of likes his character. Historical accuracy aside, I like a foreign sidekick…
Is he the Marco Polo actor?

How is that related to 10 Miles of?
It also exists in the same 3L3W universe so same tribes, same places, same concepts with respect to time in mortal world vs immortal world, etc. I think this story takes place well before 10 Miles. My guess is that is why its considered related content.

Yeah while in principle I see the point of giving Zhang Xiao Jing a new sidekick, the character was just poorly…
Wow, that is just excellent color - I rolled my eyes at that pretty comment as well. The character is also super annoying because I really hoped to see the relationship continue to take off between ZXJ and TQ and this vain pretty boy is getting in the way without adding any value.
On The Longest Day in Chang'an Aug 4, 2019
In the 20s and uhm... . why is this fluent Chinese speaking, kung fu fighting, building hoping foreign priest dude sticking around? Seems like a gratuitous digression on a already rather less believable character. Not loving this latest (one of many )plot digression hopefully it ends soon.

The real question is whether that automatically qualifies those two clowns to be immortals (doubt it). And if…
Interesting you pick on those dramas - they are all by the same director so many common themes and character biases. I won't really comment specifically on them here bc I already wrote reviewes on them. Maybe try out different directors? Although I noticed all of the 2019 romance themed dramas are all dragged out with many fillers. At least in L&D you get one of the veteran main leads, mostly Ni Ni in the fillers if you watch The Legends its more fillers all by newbie unknown actors (painful).

I rewatched some of the earlier eps and Zhang Zhen hotness looks very much the same from the first ep. I think…
LOL seems I am not the only lovesick fool!!!
On Novoland: Eagle Flag Aug 4, 2019
I am just ten episodes into this and I am totally enchanted. I don't have the baggage of having read the books (yeah, shame on me) so I don't have any expectations am just reacting to the drama for what it is. What I like best so far beyond what is an excellent storyline, is the friendship between the three young leads. I think it absolutely rocks that its not a trite love triangle but a warm, fun, supportive friendship between two young men and a young woman. Men and women being just friends more than anything else although with a spark of attraction to each other is just so rare and underexplored in dramas like this. The female lead also doesn't bother me much, I think she is rather adorable - at least she is not making lovesick puppy eyes at one or both of the male leads all the time. And for the record I detest the typical whiny, noisy, infantile and spoilt brat routine that is common in these shows, I have dropped things like AOL (yeah that gal was what I consider to be a total train wreck) for that specific reason. I feel so far this female lead is naturally quite charming and is not over-acting that badly and is getting more flack than she deserves. She has good friend chemistry with both male leads and she is that x-factor that brings out the comaraderie in an indescribable way. I also usually prefer and appreciate veteran actors and this production certainly is overflowing with them. They are pretty awesome but so far, I am most moved by the trio and how they seem to bring out the best in each other in an otherwise pretty cynical and brutal world.

I was thinking the same thing too, JC just looks so hot as the episodes increase, that or I just totally love…
Yeah I been fan since crouching tiger I just didn’t think they made him up well in the beginning but now I suspect it was on purpose to make him grow on us...

Very interesting observation, I may need to check it out. I am taking any kind of excuse to check out Zhang Zhen…
Pls check it out let me know... to be honest I thought Ye Hua looked boring and borderline constipated in the beginning but I been a Chang Chen fan forever...

Purely my own personal opinion, but my respect and rating for this show has seriously dropped after episode 40.…
The real question is whether that automatically qualifies those two clowns to be immortals (doubt it). And if not, then they ain't gonna be around for that long anyway he don't even have to teach them anything. But they can make themselves useful guarding Ah Mo in the meantime.
On Love and Destiny Aug 3, 2019
Am I the only one that has noticed that in the most recent spoilers JC looks noticeably much better. Its like the 3L3W magic they worked on Mark Chao - he got better looking as the show went on. I went back and rewatched some earlier parts and it looks like they plastered foundation on Chang Chen and highlighted his gorgeous cheekbones a lot more. And also the angles they shot him from appear much more flattering. This director is very devious and manipulative.

From the spoiler, did Ah Mo ask that if she die (at that demon mountain place) LX can come back? It’s kinda…
I don't think we have to worry, in the 3L3W universe she is just one person and all of them at the same time. She just doesn't realize that until she becomes LX again she is not her complete self. Ah Mo is a mortal, she only lives 60 days maximum immortal time before becoming LX again. And after spending so much time making eyes at JX she deserves to be a bit jealous over JC's love for LX. I don't mind seeing her suffer a bit and it cracks me up that she is jealous of herself.

Yes, In the trailer she becomes a high goddess.
I think they spammed us with so many good spoilers all of a sudden because they realized many people were getting frustrated and wanted to get off the bus... I was floored there were so many this week.

I re-watched a few earlier episodes, now I've got the feeling that Yao Ru Neng might have been romantically and/or…
That makes sense - he definitely has a huge chip on his shoulder. But it also could be that she is also the only woman in the entire Peacekeeper corp and of lowly station. She is bound to be harrassed all the time by the likes of him - even ZXJ in some of the beginning episodes appeared to be harrassing her. Its pretty cool that she can hold her own with them and it just kind of rolls off her back.

Ugh. Same here. Is there a schedule? It feels so random—maybe because I keep checking every five minutes. ;)
OMG that's so random! I am trying to watch very slowly because I want to have a few episodes buffer but its the weekend its gonna be hard...

Guessing a bit but I think Ah Mo was poisoned and JX is implying that JC is somehow responsible because he is hanging waiting for LX to come back when Ah Mo dies. Which of course is a stab in Ah Mo's heart. And that JX is going to try to intervene with the progression of Ah Mo's fate which Si Ming has time and again warned against. JX is a danger to LX return because he wants to keep her as Ah Mo. And I start to feel sorry for JC because I think he loves both Ah Mo and LX. Finally this show is getting good again.
