Yes and its hard to find something everyone wants to watch. I don't think this is bad though, it just reminds me why I stopped watching his shows years ago when they started making better productions like Dragon, Ip Man etc that avoid the excessive silliness. Poor guy he never got the memo that its just not that funny. And the hairstyle they inflicted on Darren Chen whenever he goes to the Iron Market is so 1980s/90s I just roll my eyes and laugh.

It has its moments and parts of it are quite witty and funny and technically it is extremely well shot but the cases so far are quite predictible. And I am not a fan of the assinine feud with the Orirat girl and her thug - its crass in a way that speaks to everything I really don't like about Jackie Chan. Hope they keep it to a minimum or this will turn into a beautiful waste of time. It is just not a good sign to have fillers like that pop up so early in the show.

Yes Jackie Chan is great but high stress factor. I will definitely watch it at some point. Managed to finish Under the Power so I am thinking of it but there are a few other new ones starting that could be good too so I haven't committed yet.

My Chinese history is not as good as it should be I am watching this with my mom who really knows her Chinese history but unfortunately her Mandarin is not good enough to watch without subs. Viki has been very slow so I keep having to put this on hold to wati for her. I believe however that Growling Tiger is completely subbed on Viki. Try that - there may be regional restrictions but if you have a VPN you can get around it. Also I find after Viki Dramacool often has very good subs. I am watching Secret of the 3 Kingdoms at the moment it is a very different (entirely fictional) take on this period but wow it is creative and good.

Honestly I put him on my stalk list after Royal Nirvana. He is my new crush.
