Tyvm I had that problem too some time back but my friend helped me fix it by adjusting the volume on the different speakers. For this one its mid sentence when someone is speaking. I think its an Amazon problem bc I went to a free site dramavery and it was much better but overall quality not as good so for the time being I am sticking with Amazon...

Is there something wrong with the sound? I can barely hear what the actors are saying sometimes and then it becomes very loud all of a sudden. Its so bad I have to read the subtitles to understand what is going on.

You can try to download the subtitles on youtube and then drop it into Google Translate. Its not going to be great but maybe you be able to get the general idea. I have used this for other languages but I don't need subtitles for Chinese so I can't really tell you what the quality will be.

LOL to tell u the truth I am super upset because I know from the spoiler poster she has a kid with someone and JX is about to propose to her. Meanwhile SM is being a real pest and keeps JC away from LX with all kinds of dire warnings. So my overactive imagination has this terrible fear that her second and third trials involve a doomed relationship in the mortal world and a child. Which would be true to the 3L3W formula but that if something like that happens and its not with JC that would just kill me dead. It would literally make me want to unwatch this show.

Excellent. You should really write a review given your high level of appreciation for this drama. Many of the summaries on this site are messed up I rarely read them. I just go straight for the reviews.

I didn't expect it to be TMOPB but I hoped it would still be quite wonderful. It was on the right track for awhile. I thought it would be really fun to see a LX+JC pairing with a QY+YF couple taking on their enemies together and deepening those relationships. Instead we get a massive digression in the mortal world where she forms all kinds of relationships but we already know she won't live long there beyond her mortal trials. So I don't see the point of getting that invested in it. And trust me waiting for that next mortal trial that is dragging its feet in appearing has been a huge trial on this mortal! There were so many fun things they could have done to make this part better and still fill episodes which is really what this is all about. Like for example pairing her up with QY's former husband as a potential second lead would have been so much better than the creepy JX. And that could have brought QY and YF running to create a few triangles with characters that I am actually willing to invest in. This would already be on hold for me were it not for the fact I am not watching anything else that I am that wowed by.

I am not optimistic based on the trailers. I think this nonsense goes on until at least 40 and that is a best case scenario. The truth we don't want to admit is the plot is thin. The first arc was basically a rehash of Dijun + Feng Jiu and frankly it was slightly malicious bomb thrown at the Pillow Book production and it already went on way too long. And then now there is this long desperate second arc with a nonsense second lead that rehashes some of Ye Hua's mortal trial. I really want to like this show but its been aside from a few decent moments incredibly boring. I go back and watch Ten Miles and I just think no comparison. Very disappointed. And there really is not much more time to salvage this. If this show were a stock it would be crashing right now.

Another two episodes of my life I am not getting back. Fed up.

Sigh! Indeed. All the 2019 dramas have been filler hell!!! I am going to really whack the ratings. To show the producers none of this BS advertising hungry filler shit. Don't reward them with 10s. They don't deserve it. I am tempted to drop this right here and now.

Maybe change:
"Chang’an’s intelligence chief Li Bi, a bright but inexperienced 23-year-old aristocrat-cum-Taoist-priest"
into something like:
"Chang’an’s intelligence chief Li Bi, a bright but inexperienced 23-year-old prodigy of the Crown Prince"
Seems to me its less important we know he is an aristocrat/prodigy cum Taoist priest and more important that he is an ally and in fact reports to the Crown Prince.

While this summary is better than the existing summary, the part about the regency of the Right Chancellor doesn't connect with the terrorist plot. It reads like no matter what the Right Chancellor is going to be appointed regent and when that happens the Crown Prince is likely disposed. How does foiling a terrorist plot save the Crown Prince? Suggest somewhere to make clear the alliance of Li Bi/Peacekeeper Corps to the Crown Prince.

Yeah and it also proves that JX is just a slime ball dirt bag. Remember how he tried to hurt her pet when she wasn't looking? I hope LX walks in on him beating her pet and kicks his sorry ass out.

YT is much more manipulative and smarter than SJ. She makes a much more formidable enemy and I don’t think she is done yet causing trouble even though JC is on to her.

I suppose its these old cynical, high minded and calculating immortals like him that make the 3L3W series special... when the likes of the JC/LX/Ye Hua/ YH uncle whose name I forget break the rules and fall in love it becomes magic...

In short, his shifu is a pompous selfish ass.
