ep 42 for me. The lantern's transformation was both imaginative and beautiful. The VFX throughout the episode…
I agree, it has to be 42. Besides being stunning on a big screen ALMOST all the main antagonists and protagonists are still alive and primarily featured. Only Li Bi was pretty much MIA, which continued to the end to my dismay. 23/24 is also worthy of consideration.

Ok... I can't believe I just binge watched the last 12 in row after putting this on hold because life got in the way for awhile. I definitely liked the second half a lot better than the first half. Mysteries and conspiricies are my first love so I enjoyed pulling at the threads until the plot was revealed. They didn't exactly keep to the unspoken bargain of hiding all the clues in plain sight so I won't say it was the best I have seen in this genre but for me, it was good enough. I thought the philosophical and political tropes were ok maybe a bit melodramatic but still managed to squeeze a few tears from me. That said, the ending was a bit anti-climatic and potentially even one plot twist too many. I get it that most of China watches dramas on handheld devices which is such a waste for something that was so beautifully shot like this. That said, of all episodes I would certainly not have chosen to air the last episode at cinemas. Of all the magnificent, explosive episodes to show in a theater that was just not the one. In fact it could be quite fun to play the if you could show only one episode at a theater whicih one would it be?

I find that the line Tan Qi said when she first met Zhang Xiao-jing——'most of men talk the talk but don't…
That speech was complete BS. The emperor is a sociopath - a master manipulator and deflector. He neatly turns his critics against themselves and sidesteps the whole issue of why he preys on his young.

I finally spotted LB! I suspected he would show up in the flashbacks and had been keeping an eye out for him. Kind of cool how its all coming together.

That is what I used to think - that it was very early. I went back and rewatched the first few and I started to think she didn’t just melt him in the cave but his heart as well.. They show her breathing on the love knot that warmed the rock which at that time I didn’t know was his heart. So I suspect it was from the start but his awareness of it was very gradual.

It's very different. To be honest, I prefer Love and Destiny. You actually see them fall in love and get these…
They used the same voice dubber as Yang Mi’.s in TMOPB. Wish they didn’t in some places they sound so alike.

Title Eternal Love
Honestly this retarded and insipid Netflix Eternal Love title bugs the crap out of me. Thankfully all the real fans call it TMOPB. Nobody cares about Netflix can we please change this title to TMOPB. Netflix is so behind they will never catch up on c-drama. Even latecomer Amazon already so far ahead. Does anyone know how to change this?

Can anyone tell me at what episode he starts to fall for her?
Pretty much from the very beginning. He didn't know her but he lied and said she didn't trespass on his resting place. And he scheamed to take her home with him. I think it was love at first sight but he hides it very well,

How’s the romance? Is it as good as Eternal Love?
Its different. TMOPB is intense and passionate. This is slow burn but very, very deep. Don't need to compare. They are both addictive in their own right.

Is there any love story?
Which one? The love story in NIF is peripheral it is really a bromance. TMOPB is only a love story.

Wait I’m on ep 17. Did Su Shun Qin really just died in the sword place? She was one of my favorite characters.…
That was cruel and unnecessary. I was so upset at that I put this on hold for awhile.

She is indeed one of the best villains I have seen in a long time. But LOL the new Bond is a black woman so not sure about that particular lineup.

Hopefully it lasts - the industry has been a bit of a bubble for some time with all the big internet companies throwing tons of money at it. But recently the companies have been reporting huge losses as a result of content bans and soaring production costs. All of the media stocks have been decimated. But its great that all that money is trickling down to the little guys and domestic tourism is indeed on the rise throughout China not just in this particular space.

Title Love and Destiny Spoiler
I am happy wtih the ending but I would have been happier if they didn't make JC and LX suffer one last time. They already made this couple suffer so much, I don't think they needed to throw one last rock at them by having JC break LX's heart by "dumping" her. They could have just avoided that last bit of relationship suffering and had LX insist they team up and deal with their problem together much earlier on and shown them really give it to JX and YT together. Then they could have smoked those two evil people and really told them off in a much more satisfying way. Those two hateful delusional evil ones got off way too lightly. It could have still ended the same way with JC being sealed for awhile but I would have preferred to see more of JC and LX together instead. It is also like after successfully avoiding being like TMOPB throughout at the very end they have them have a kid and LX has to wait alone for 300 years... Sound familiar? But these are just small thoughts I am still mostly more grateful that they didn't give it a really sad ending. It was overall a good and enjoyable ending that gave me my lovesick happy face.
