I haven’t seen ep 6 yet but she is an iconic 女侠 character I find it unfathomable they would cast an actress whose whole career is made on pouting. In any case I haven’t seen her yet and as long she doesn’t pout I will be fine. Veiled up would make that difficult. Kudos to the director for finding such a genius way to stop her.

Ugh! That's unfortunate. Her pouting is gonna bring down my rating bc its going to RUIN one of my all time favorite wuxia characters.

I am not at ep 6 yet but Zhang Yuxi should be a guest role only. If she is Ding Yuehua then YUCK. Sorry don't like her.

No romance or mild romance for wuxias is just perfect for me. Love it!!! There is an abundance of romance dramas. Like just TOO MANY. People who love that should go enjoy those gazillions of romantic dramas and let those of us who don't care for that watch this in peace.

If there is, it should be mostly one-sided. Zhan Zhao's love should be Ding Yuehua, who is not in the cast list. He is a classic martial arts hero - for him to have a love interest besides Ding Yuehua would be like pairing up Superman with someone other than Lois Lane.

In the original classic, they should be frenemies. But this is fanfic/original script so I am not sure how they change it.

Indeed the plot for Blood River was pretty good but I won't put it in quite the same league as this. And yes, a Mandarin speaker would find it much harder to ignore bad lines and poorly written dialogues. Most of the time that explains why I just don't like super popular c-dramas as much as most of the other viewers on MDL.

Yang Yang is a vastly superior actor on multiple levels. Gong Jun can't even deliver his own lines.

I am watching on Disney+ in HK but there are no English subtitles and the Chinese subs are in traditional Chinese.

I am just following the rules of the universe as described in the drama. The quid pro quo for becoming a perfect war demon is his memory, everything that made him LQQ has been wiped. He no longer remembers himself and who he was, much less her and everything that happened between them. In some ways he reincarnated into someone else. So to me LQQ is dead. She is starting over with someone else. I liked the drama a lot but the ending not so much.

I think the whole point of being able to discuss dramas is to agree and/or disagree - there is absolutely no reason to start WW3 over an opinion.😉🤭😅

Yes the ML is the central character but many characters have good roles.

I don’t consider that to be a happy ending. And I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion he will fall for her all over again. As far as I am concerned LQQ is dead and all we have left is a perfect, all powerful empty shell.

He is alive but his character dies. Idk why they say it’s a HE.
