I also thought she never got over Jiang Cheng and despite my love for Jing Boran, I didn't like Jiang Hansheng's character and found it hard to root for him. But I understand why they ended up together/she chose him. They are both incredibly needy characters.

They didn’t like how she played house with Jiang Cheng and seemed to waffle between them.

That makes sense - crime plot was solid but the romance plot was controversial, many viewers took issue with it.

I was fine with her until she wasn't sad about Jin Lun. Then I was like wow - she is useless.

If you watched Novoland Pearl Eclipse, this is a about the second FL, princess Tilan. It looks like in this story she is with her childhood sweetheart but in the original story, she is a consort of the mad bad emperor. This should bear no resemblance to the novel which doesn't really focus on her so its not really worth reading it. If you do want to skim it, it should be online somewhere and from memory its only the epilogue or the last few chapters that is all about her.

Yeah seems a lot more suspense this year. But Fate Chooses You is surprisingly good. Similar to Immortal Ascension except it’s more like Mortal Descension. And I think Zhan Zhao adventures will drop soon. In the meantime both Wang Hedi’ and Xu Kai’s suspense dramas have pretty good word of mouth. I checked out Wang Hedi’s but idk if I have time to continue.

Zhan Zhao adventures starting mid May - I can wait until then.

Undecided about whether to watch this. Synopsis reads like they are just recycling SOML/Rise of Ning plot except this time she ends up with the bad guy who becomes the good guy. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ep 14 - I love it how geeky c-dramas are - they always make such a big show of doing high speed mental math in the dialogue.😅🤦🏻‍♀️

I think the plot itself is interesting but the dialogue is a bit long winded and boring in places.

Heheh - I also read the novel so was an easy decision to skip Rebirth.

Hello… how is Rebirth? I didn’t make it past Ep 1 bc the Yuwen Yue I knew and loved would not be such a dumbass as to make himself an easy target on top of a mountain of corpses!😅

There is a heavy element of choose your own ending in it. Kind of a cop out.

They are both bots with their chips partially erased.😅

Thank you for reading. I am just having a super busy year and have fallen very behind on reviews but I get to them eventually. Zhou Yiran is a fantastic young actor, I plan to check out more of his dramas. Veil of Shadows is pretty good although it gets a bit messy at the end. You could give it a try if you like the fantasy genre. I couldn't get into the cast changes for Rebirth.

Yes indeed and its not that different from my interpretation. I just think the last few episodes there were too many unexplained transitions and dead characters popping up alive again for seemingly random reasons. We are supposed to ignore all the unanswered questions bc we are too distraught and distracted by the many deaths. That is why I said I have to think about whether its a bad ending, maybe rewatch some parts.
