I’ve finished it. Rewatched it. I guess I’m still left at restaurant… In my opinion their romance is like bonfire flickers. Sure it’s warm, but if you get too close it is quite heated.
Love it when Zang Hai gone rouge to safe An Tu. Normal people says I Love You. Zang Hai’s said, “I’ve lost too many loved ones. And now, I can not lose you too”.
Why is it this revenge drama speaks love the loudest..? Even romance drama couldn’t match the way Zang Hai orbits towards AnTu. Or how AnTu beams at Zang Hai…
The intensity of Xiao Qi and A Wu relationship is presented with their best acting skill. It’s like watching couples in movies saga not just series drama.
Hanyan and Mr. Fu has this micro expressions which very Royal blood like. A very A-game poker face. Calm but ruthless. Posh but unpretentious. Wished their background got uplifted by a bit since they got wit and strategies matched the Palace intriguing situation. The whole eunuch Pei’s hidden treasures and conspiracy theories should’ve been wide enough to get stretched and disclosed. Instead of focusing in just one diabolique villainous creep that is Zhuang Shi Yang.
Whenever Mr. Fu wakes up from passing out of poisonous episodes, his body would maneuver to scan the room to find Hanyan and then his face lit up for Hanyan’s presence. Now that’s affection.
In this drama. Hanyan has the toughest childhood and past to live on. She grew from wanting what Cinderella wants then to find horrible truth of her father. Then at the same time, learning the fellow she believe is helping her out turns to be the other villain accessories also.
Mr. Fu is maroon also… not exactly the greenest person. So he married her big sister then had a kid. Then eventually got to meet Hanyan, only to treated her as pawn only. At first he claimed, that was the intention. Along the way his heart is firm to fell for her. So he work his very best making amends here and there. Hopefully this comes to Hanyan’s light soon. As she drown deeper to her darker vengeful mode.
There’s lots of possible plot twist. First, perhaps Mr. Fu do have plenty hidden card waiting to be revealed. One thing for sure, he acts far differently now. Unlike a Widower should. Especially one with a kid from Hanyan’s big sister that is 🤔. This itself needs some more context. Secondly, Father dearest is always claiming to be the weak and the good hearted one. While he simply the worst of villain. Keep sacrificing his own children for his safety. Third, will there be an Emperor surfacing and taking turns in this story. Let’s not forget this whole vendetta started by a Eunuch adopting sons to making havoc in the imperial world.
To be fair, Hanyan has the worst type of betrayal of all in this drama. This does leads her to many enemies lurking as she avenged. Mr. Fu better be brilliant in gaining her trust again. I hope he still has secret cards play out well to earn Hanyan’s affection.
So just realizing something here. Zisheng’s glances to Shaoshang from stranger to silent crush to friendlier zone to boyfriend zone to ex boyfriend zone to boyfriend again zone. Is never the same. Wu Lei has put different shades of charm for each. Which is brilliant 🙂
