LOL. I thought you were going to write about diseases often used as tropes in kdramas. Psych! But back to the…
That would be a good article idea :P Thank for the recommendations. Among these, I have only seen Empress Ki. And I am looking forward to watch the rest.
Ah long Kdramas!! They're my favourite! I'm currently watching Once Again and it's going well. I see you've mentioned…
I couldn't agree more, Ha Ji Won does so well in strong performances. I haven't seen QSD yet. I guess I am saving it, since I heard so many good things about it. My Only One... is really emotional. And although the OSTs didn't play often and they don't get noticed, they are really good . My Golden Liiiiife!! Finally someone mentioned it! It is so painful. I watched it a long time ago but I think I'll cry if I remembered it now. It is that good. Shin Hye Sun was so good! I have yet to check Come! Jang Bo-Ri out. Thanks for reading!
Continuing my last comment: if 32 episodes is considered a long drama, then "Hotel King" is my favorite long drama.…
It is up to you to set the standard. Because, in Korean dramas, 16 episodes is the usual, and sometimes less in other countries, 30 might feel long to some.
It is common to lose patience when the plot drags. And it happens often in longer dramas, because they are made to last for a longer time. Personally, I leave the drama on hold and start another fast-paced drama, or fast-forward some scenes. Each drama has its own unique pace, long dramas are made long for a reason. Thank you for reading :))
Two questions: 1) what is the drama in the middle of your article with Yoo Yeon-Seok in it? 2) how many episodes…
Oh, the gifs are not from a drama. They are from a TV show called Coffee Friends. It's so healing ^^ (and they are not mine)
To be honest, as far as I know, there is no such thing that is defined as 'long dramas'. I use it as a concept to describe the dramas that are longer than the average 16-20 episodes count. It may differ in everyone's standard. So in my book, I consider dramas that have more than like 40 one-hour episodes as long. Usually, they are more than 50 episodes. In fact, you can notice the difference in the quality of production sometimes in longer dramas. For example, they use sets as a house or a neighborhood and the lightning is different; it looks older. I'm not criticizing because I like the simplicity. But in the historical dramas I have seen so far, the great quality is maintained throughout the drama. I hope I was of some help :)
I only saw one episode of CLOY. It was so good that I am saving it for a rainy day. Very recently, I saw the old drama Summer Scent of Son Ye Jin. She has been a great actress from the beginning. Thanks to her acting, I am more excited to watch CLOY. Btw, Summer Scent is a golden must watch. Don't hesitate about it, if you appreciate slow dramas.
Five Children was also an excellent family drama and I'm enjoying Once Again which is currently airing and is…
I read a big spoiler about The Last Empress recently :( so I'm pushing it back for now. It is not really a long drama, but I am looking forward to watch it.
Thanks for this interesting article! Yes I agree that time and patience are the most necessary factors to get…
That's true! Some time ago I looked ridiculously at any long drama. I though I'd never be able to watch one. Even now if, like you say, the time in my life that I start a drama in doesn't help in enjoying a praised drama, after few tries I stop there and keep it for a later time. Perhaps I would want to watch it later. I'm happy you found it interesting. Thank you for reading!
I was watching mysterious personal shopper. Sometimes i liked it, sometimes i did'nt. I felt like sometimes it…
Just like you said. One day you can be very interested and the next day you think of dropping it. I personally don't feel bad because I gave it a try at least and I satisfied my curiosity about the story.
I have been watching long family dramas for many years. I think I have about 4 (completed) on my belt which isn't…
Thanks for your recommendations, I didn't know a lot about the dramas you mentioned, but since you spoke fondly I won't hesitate about giving them a try.
but honestly, historical dramas cannot be watched without full attention, imo
We have different opinions ;) I was bored at first with Six Flying Dragons, Dong Yi, Horse Doctor, and even Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People, and more. I grew to like them a lot, though.
