For the slowburn and mature romance type, I like The Rational Life. The leads are definitely not annoying or stupid. Though the romance is not that fluffy or adorable like YAMG..

Both are good.. but, in the drama they gave more cute adorable tidbits than in the novel. And also more detail in some aspects, like Yu Tu's and Jing Jing's career..

Yupp.. just watch that scene and rewatch again on that scene to see.. your description of "like a man on mission" totally suitable.. LOL.. and the way Reba circling her hands around YY's shoulder just felt on point. Also it's not a close up scene. They shouldn't have to be THAT real.. I think I heard somewhere when an actor describe kiss scene.. there's a close up kiss that they have to really into it, and then there's some kind of far away scene where that they just have to appear as if they're kissing (I don't know what to call it).. I think this kiss should be counted as the 2nd one, seeing that the camera was zoomed away..
Also.. there's another one.. the scene when they kissed in the school.. Someone pointed out that in the bts video the director had to call out a couple of times until they realize that it was "cut".. It's said that they were too into it.. LOL.. but, I saw it in ig post of the shipper.. So, maybe it's just one of the way they see it..

I understand what you mean.. As a YangReba shipper, I'm happy reading your analysis.. I read some posts in ig about them in the CP shipper account.. they said that that one kiss seemed to be deepened as the drone pan away instead of being finished.. But, who knows what exactly happened, only them and maybe the staff there.. LOL

Another favorite Cdrama this year for me is The Rational Life.. Though it's not fluffy and adorable like YAMG.. But, the mature concept and not-stupid FL is the same..

Yes I know that they have different kind of chemistry between Leo/Reba and YY/Reba. And I know that YAMG has totally different genre from TLB..
I enjoyed watching TLB, I like all those characters, and I know that TLB is from Manhua, even though I didn't actually read it.

Yupp.. that's what I think too.. I think either because they're just not mature enough OR not patience enough to find the chemistry in YAMG.. In YAMG, they showed that romance actually takes time and efforts just as irl. They can't find the chemistry because YAMG didn't throw them on your face in the first episodes.. they weave it in small details between the leads' dialogues and actions..

Perfect description.. not that trying to throw any other drama under the bus.. sometimes I watch that kind of dramas and actually like the story (depend on my mood).. but yeah., that kind of plot made me roll my eyes..
What I love the most about YAMG.. they gave us 10 WHOLE episodes after the leads got together before ending the drama without sudden breakup or misunderstanding in the middle.. while in the other dramas usually the leads got together in the last episode or two.. 🙄

You know what I mean.. The type that when theFL suddenly loose her footing then she fell on top of the ML and their lips just happen to meet.. 🤣🤣 That'd be the definition of cliché and cheesy..

I think maybe either it's just they dislike the drama (maybe hardcore fan of other drama that was shadowed by YAMG) or they were used to the type of whirlwind drama that has the leads got together in ep2 then they kiss in ep4.
YAMG is mature drama with slow burn romance, the pace is realistic. So, maybe people who think that there's no chemistry because YT/JJ took their time to actually get to know each other and finally decided to be together instead of kissing by ep4..

I just found some fanfictions in AO3.. I haven't read them yet.. but, I've read some fanfics from this author (not YAMG), and I love them.. Maybe you'll be interested too..

But then again.. when he re-fuel, it's gonna be impossible for us to get out of that ship.. LOL

In the novel, there's this JJ thought after she played on the rehearsal.. "She just wanted to record this conversation and let their fans hear." LOL
