I had mixed feelings about this kdrama. I found it a bit tightly wrapped. Everyone including the doctors, nurses,…
I'm curious about how you think people with mental health issues navigate real life. Your mention that almost everyone in the show has some form of mental illness, similar to the patients, raised questions. first off all, its a psychiatric ward setting ofc everyone will have some sort of psychological problem. Secondly, It seems you might have a mixed up between mental health problems and disorders. the patients in the show, including the main lead and his best friend, have disorders, while others don't. In reality, many experience mental health problems but not everyone has a disorder. While it's true disorders become a new normal, some do recover. Those around individuals with severe cases also face many challenges.
I believe this is what the show also aims to convey — the universal experience of mental health challenges, ranging from severe disorders to manageable problems. It also emphasizes on how empathy, compassion and introspection can be a crucial turning point for everyone.
and? The show gives an insight into a different disorder in every episode, the struggle and stigma behind them is sometimes way worse than its shown here. Even tho they have touched upon 10% of some main disorders, it's a great start to open up about this topic in a country such as Korea or Asia in general. And Yeah the 'story' had something lacking But in no way does the show look like a documentary, if it was one it would have probably been more depressing and sad to watch.
i keep reading comments saying how boring, sad and depressing the show is, well no shit sherlock. its main focus is on anxiety, depression, suicide self harm and other major and extremely painful sets of mental health issues, which in real life are no fun and rainbows.
the show did a good job in portraying these issues, even if briefly. i hope it effectively challenged stigmatized beliefs about mental illnesses and somewhat educated viewers about these issues.
so you think the second lead syndrome was only there in start up?? and no the female lead doesn't like anyone for now and neither did when she was a child. yes a sense of understanding and care was there for Kiho but no such romantic feeling were depicted. also there are no romance tag for this drama as of now.
Plus what if Woohak and Kiho are half brothers then what if that their mother lost baby in the past so may be…
Yes it is most definitely kiho's mom, we know that from the 1st ep when his dad said you are planning to run away to her, I believe he most definitely did that. Woohak may have lost his memory due to an injury or something. I believe kiho changed his name before going to his mom, or even if he did not he may have asked her to keep it a secret from the other in the family. His father didn't known where his mom was probably still doesnt hence he is still looking for him.
2eps in and it's such a solid start. Park Eunbin keeps proving herself in every role she plays, an absolute gem of an actress. bawled my eyes out in the first episode, some parents should just disappear from the face of disgusting.
It's pretty obvious who the real ki ho is, i cant wait to know how he kept his cool when he first saw Mokha after 15 years. Also i love the musical aspect of this. hope the next eps are just as good. By far it's a pretty good blend of music, emotions and laughter.
P.s baby Dino did a great job with the OST, cant wait for it to release.
they are doppelgangers they need to look the same so younger actors would not have really worked.
Yeah, I understand what you mean but It's not about looking older or younger. They have to look identical. they are doppelgangers, they are supposed to look like the same exact person.
I don't know.I think when the problems inside each couple was solved it was needed an external conflict, which…
no, i loved the ending. what i mean to say is if the Boeing drama was necessary to put in then it should have been done earlier, should have had more layers to it rather than being the cliche trope that it is. it was a waste of potential.
I don't know.I think when the problems inside each couple was solved it was needed an external conflict, which…
The concept was alright, the execution wasn't. Bringing Boeing as an external conflict in the last 2eps was the wrong move in my opinion. Why? Because it becomes obvious how it will turn out. Which is exactly how it did. It would have been fun if mew or sand or heck even ray would have chosen Boeing or sand-ray-boeing would have become a thing. Now that would have been a twist and more of a fun watch.
loved the whole SandRay- listening-to-music-while-traveling-the-city scene. an absolute favourite. will miss FirstKhoatung the most. hope to see them again next year. On the other hand, Mark and Neo are very talented, it would be a waste of talent if we dont see them as leads.
p s - keeping boston aside, Chueam was not that good of a friend to legit anyone out of the 3. i said what i said
'cause they both are two different people from two different time lines. The present one is junhee and the past…
see firstly let's just call the one is the past siheon or else it will be hard to understand. and if by saying junhee fell for his bf's look alike in the past(siheon) when she time traveled, then NO she did not. but their's a twist and i dont wanna spoil cause then the whole plot will be out in the open. junhee and minju both didn't like ingyu, romantically. junhee was very clear in how she doesn't like anyone actually neither ingyu nor the past yeonjun look alike (siheon). and about going to the US ingyu and Siheon had a lil fight.
A very well made noir. it was great in terms of acting and cinematography but i do think some things regarding the storyline could have been done a bit differently. I was more frustrated with characters and their choices rather than being like oh nice smart move like that chief who was leading the whole operation did certain things the way he did. He did not care about anything but his damn promotion. He talked about how sacrifice is necessary but ironically everyone else was sacrificing something but him. The other cop Hwang mingu was far better than him at playing cop and was one annoying character but at least he was smart. I wonder what happened to chief seo he was one handsome man and also truly badass. Regarding junmo it's so evident how those two certain events led him to lose his sanity, making him who he became in the end. I would love to see ji chang wook and wi hajoon together again.
