FL had a heart disease since she was young. Without both the HPS and the dark flower, FL was dying, but with the spell, the ML was dying instead in her place. BXS shoot the dark thing to take the HPS from the ML's heart to FL's heart stopping her from dying which also stop the life-exchanging spell from activated.

Yeah, I just don't like how they withheld that information thought. We saw the fight between TY & SY in ep 1, but they didn't show that sneak attack. They did it better with the life-exchanging spell IMO. We did see TY doing some spell for YH but didn't what spell. However, it's the problem with editing, nor directing or writing.
