Not really sure. I think it might be that he's the most likely to become the future head of the family after ZSC because his father (ZSC's 2nd uncle) is the acting head of the family. That's why Ren's allowed to adopt the "Zhousheng" name which is normally reserved for the eldest son. Whereas, Wenchuan is second-born son so he'll always be overshadowed by ZSC.

I reckon Wen Chuan will go into full villain mode and Wen Xing's health will deteriorate even further. From the trailer, Shi Yi might suffer even worse harm from ZSC's family and ZSC is probably going to be torn by guilt over it... 😭

I guess there's even more drama to come so I'm just taking the time to prepare my heart 😌

Yeah Allen Ren said in an interview that he lost quite a bit of weight for One and Only, which was filmed after Forever and Ever. Plus, he said that the modern ZSC is a professor so he should live more comfortably than the general ZSC and be chubbier 😂

I completely agree! Bai Lu and Allen Ren have heaps of chemistry together WITH OR WITHOUT much intimate scenes. You know what's painful? Watching a couple with bad chemistry having to kiss or make out. Tbh I find the some scenes in the recent eps pretty intimate. Like when she traces his nose after running through the rain, that scene just shows their emotional connection on a whole different level.

Plus, this is not your typical fluffy romance. It's a SLOW-BURN romance that's more on the slice-of-life side with a lot of things left for the audience to read between the lines. It's not supposed to be a straightforward kiss then ends with a wedding.

I agree, ep 22 was so wholesome! All my favourite characters in one house, actually we're only missing Uncle Lin. And it's official, I'm also a stan of ZSC's cousin now, Xiao Ren is such a sweetie 😆
