I tried that drama too. But cannot pass more than 3 episodes. It's so silly and cliche for me.
Really? I personally thought Kim Go Eun was quite well casted for CITT and Goblin cause they're both kind of down to earth roles. On the other hand, I'm not mad about her role in Eternal Monarch though...
This is the first time I've seen Allen in a modern drama and I'm even more infatuated. I know that he's good at…
Hahahaha Zhu Yilong is more of a scholar than a general but he's really versatile in both historical and modern dramas. Plus I love him in The Story of Ming Lan and Reunion: The Sound of the Providence which also has that modern with beautiful traditional antique settings.
Zhang Zhehan probably would make a stunning general but I've any of his modern dramas so I don't know. Personally, he looks a bit too young to play Shi Yi's teacher LOL...
I've only seen Zhang Ruoyun in Joy of Life which doesn't focus much on romance so not sure how he would fare with Bai Lu but I guess he does a similar serious and mature vibe like Allen Ren.

Yeah the only Chinese actors I could think of who are mature enough to play ZSC would be Wallace Huo, Zhou Yi Long and Wang Kai. But Allen is the one that really fits the duality of the historical and modern ZSC and makes the role his own...
Is there a character relationship chart for this drama? I feel like I need one
I guess there might be one for the novel but I haven't seen any. So far Zhou Sheng Chen's family only focuses on his stepmother, younger brother Zhou Wen Chuan and sister-in-law (ex-classmate) Tong Jia Ren, younger sister Zhou Wen Xing (Wen Chuan's twin), uncle Zhou Sheng Xing (temporarily in charge of the family's business) and younger cousin Zhou Sheng Ren (the cutie).
In terms of relationship, his sister Wen Xing seems to like his bestie Mei Xing (ponytail guy) while Wen Chuan likes that seamstress but is trapped in an arranged marriage with Jia Ren because of his mother.

Oh wow I've never heard about it before. I only know that the webtoon's fans didn't like Kim Go Eun playing the FL but I actually thought she really fits it tbh, as someone who did read the webtoon.
CITT was when I started to really like Park Hae Jin and Seo Kang Joon. But yeah the screen time thing is so messed up...
Allen is really a professional actor, he always carries his character perfectly. he plays this ZSC character exactly…
This is the first time I've seen Allen in a modern drama and I'm even more infatuated. I know that he's good at playing serious and astute historical ML from Under the Power but I love this new adorkable side of him too!

I haven't heard of Betty Wu either until I saw her with Xiao Zhan in Douluo Continent, which is a really good drama btw. She was just naturally cute in it! I like Richards as well but I always have a soft spot for cheeky characters like Bi Wen Jun π

OMG I just saw that you like Cheese in the Trap and Do You Like Brahms as well! It's kind of sad that there are a lot of people on MDL that don't like them...
This is a bit unrelated but I got a guilty confession to make. I started watching Sweet Teeth while waiting for Forever and Ever to air cause I got curious after seeing that it's ranked between OaO and FaE, plus I need some pure sugar to balance out the drama. Am I the only oddball here? π
In the novel they were married right after the visit to the grandmother which is around ep 10 of the drama I think…
She pushed her into the pond?! Did I miss this or it's not explicitly shown in the drama? I thought they just had a heated verbal fight and all the relative saw so the mother lost "face" but I didn't realise it's that serious...
Btw this is unrelated but I LOVE your reviews! I always look at them whenever I'm in a binging block and desperately in need of a new gem to binge πππ

True true, I think DYLB came at just the right time as well cause I was miserable in lockdown so it felt extra special to watch heartwarming shows...
