In episode 1, she and her raven attacked the real YWS and her mom. The eng subs are rough here and the raven said he didn’t kill “him”, he just immobilized “him.”
“Him” doesn’t make sense bc there is no male in the room except for the raven. Is it supposed to be “them”? Meaning, the real YWS and her mom are alive? If so, this seems like a HUGE risk for wufeng to leave them alive
Loving this eerie and dark drama!! The brides’ white gowns and the dark, cloudy setting remind me of a gothic horror. I haven’t watched anything like this from China!
Finally finished S1 and I absolutely love how they ended with CX ascending the Xiyan throne!!
I thought it would end with some romantic cliffhanger since the story has been so focused on XY’s romance but i definitely prefer this ending.
Some of my fav parts in the last episode (and surprisingly, none are XL related although he is my fav character):
1. Jing seeping his tea UNFAZED when one of the clan leads get overthrown by his son during the clan debate. This is probably my fav Jing moments ever. 🤣🤣
2. The grandpa not fazed at all, and would actually be proud if XY kills Deyan and CX seize the throne.
3. The grandpa playing the dirtiest but funniest trick on his son, Deyan, by making him plan CX’s accession ceremony and making Deyan think he would be heir. His reasoning behind it was lit bc he is bored as king and needed some entertainment LOL
In episode 39 XL became the biggest Yao Jing shipper. 😅
He has always been pushing them together since he realized they were destined to be enemies but Jing could stay with her forever. XY was just too blind to see.

Regardless, Jing wouldn’t have the chance to save her or get close to her romantically if XL didn’t push her away and made himself unavailable throughout the story. Food for thought
They are hardcore biased Jing fans, always denial to facts👍
Their crazy, unreasonable antics made me dread watching Jing on screen. I hate to admit it, but his presence now reminds me of them. What they are doing has the opposite affect imo.

She told XL She didn’t want to kiss him bc she was afraid to fall in love with him in episode 19. From that scene alone, there is some romantic interest. Also she easked her grandpa if she could marry his enemy (XL).
I agree with others they have an unspoken love that they are too afraid to explore beyond subtle eye gazes, gestures, longing looks.

In my opinion “spectacular” doesn’t mean death. It would be more spectacular for him to be a “free bird”, free from duties and debt. however, I know c-directors and authors think a death would be more impactful. Again, this is my opinion and personal pref
