Episode 19, beach scene, is when she confessed her feelings to XL and told him she was too scared to fall in love with the enemy (it would be the “nightmare.”) if she didn’t have feelings for him, why would she even bother telling him all this?

Like i said before, Jing refused to kiss her on the beach bc he saw XL in her eyes when she kissed him.

I don’t think you understand what harem means. The main poster is her and 4 males in wedding attire. This Is intended, marketed, and is a multi love drama

Also, her tears over FL was no where near the devastation she felt when XL died. She was devastated that he erased the memories in the mirror, did not leave anything for her to remember him by. She also refused to wish FL good luck bc she didn’t want to betray XL. This is stated in the novel.

Perhaps she considers love to require mutual confession. If so, that make sense why she doesn’t consider he feelings for XL as love, bc he never revealed the truth and actively mislead her to think everything is a trade. Nevertheless, I think you need to pay attention to the characters body language, not just what they say. Otherwise, you miss out on half of the story.

My original post was about one action and my thoughts on it . It was not intended to be a full analysis of CX or praise for any other character. If you take it beyond the context of what I posted (reading into favoritism, etc) that is your problem

That doesn’t prove she doesn’t love XL. It’s a convo about Jing only and prove she loves Jing and as we both know, this is a drama about her and multiple male leads. If she didn’t have any feelings for XL, why is he the only memory she keeps in the mirror? Why did she confess to him on the beach and why did Jing see XL in her eyes and didn’t want to kisss her on the beach? Why does she look disappointed EVERY TIME he leaves? Why does she ask her grandpa if she can marry his enemy? Why does she cry her eyes out when she find out about his death?

Another big clue she has feelings for XL is Jing himself. Throughout drama and novel, Jing sees XL as his love competition. Hence, all the tense staring scenes when they meet. Jing does not have these scenes with CX, Feng long or any other male lead bc he does not see them as threats. CX sees Jing as a threat but it’s onesided for CX

I’m not saying her feelings for Jing and XL are same. Rather, I’m saying she has feelings for him (exceeding friendship) otherwise these scenes do not make sense.

I agree! Real ppl are multi-dimensional and can love multiple ppl in different ways but it’s still love.

Her feelings may not be the same for Jing and she may not have accepted her feelings for XL, but it doesn’t make sense if she doesn’t.

She does love XL in the novel and in this show. This is a reverse harem drama not a Jing and Xiao Yao story. If you can’t accept multiple loves, don’t watch this show

Don’t feel so down for XL. Comparison is the thief of all joys.

XY does genuinely care for XL in the novel and this drama.

Though it doesn’t show in The drama or novel, I believe his adopted father cares and love him in his own way too. XL is not dumb. He would not blindly follow and die for someone that does not care about him.

Furball is his faithful companion and loyal friend.

Finally, he is one of the strongest demon/man in this show. He can do what most can’t. Yeah, they showed him as poor in recent episodes but I don’t think he cares about money since it is easy for him to get more if he wanted to (strong demon, remember?)

Feng Long is exactly the right dose of cute, fun, and innoncence I needed after so many angsty/sad scenes with XL and boring/reptitive scenes with Jing. I’m glad the show directors are giving him more scenes with XY than in the novel. 🥰

As a fellow XL shipper, I feel you. I think we are living the “nightmare” XY was so afraid of for herself. XY warned us but it was too late 😆😆😆

I’m proud of Jing for setting the record straight with FFY and his grandma. I hope this boldness in words and actions continue with everything and everyone else. good job Jing!

I flooded my room with tears when i read the novel, After i finished, I even cried while driving bc I thought about XL. Totally looked crazy in public 🤪

I find it ridiculous how ppl ignore the plot and key facts to further their ships. She can love multiple men in the same drama. This is a reverse harem drama not a Jing and XY only story

Sadly, I don’t think there will be an alternative ending for XL. 😭

If there is, I wish for an ending like Ashes of Love or even LBFAD where the star-crossed lovers still had a happy/sweet ending. The feud here isnt even as bad as in those 2 dramas (e.g. male lead’s mom killed female lead’s mom in Ashes of Love while male lead’s dad raped her mom and in LBFAD, the male lead killed her parents and ppl).

I used to be in the same boat as you, but now I think she has to know his love bc of the love bugs. When she discovers the truth behind the poison bugs (they can only be put in ppl with love in their heart for one another), she must realize that XL had to love her in order for him to take the bug. XY must be able to connect these dots, right?

my issue with your original post and even now is using the word “selfish” to describe XL. A person behaves selfishly when he acts in his own self interest for his personal gain.

What does XL gain from selfishly withholding his feelings from XY, as you put it? The only thing he gains is a a broken heart, almost every scene with them ends with him looking miserable. Why does he withhold his feelings? Bc XY was the one that told him she didn’t want to fall in love with him (beach scene). Afrer that scene, he chooses not to be straightforward bc he doesn’t want her to be in a “nightmare” as XY puts it. In other words, XL is honoring XY’s wishes. it’s incorrect to put the blame on XL completely when XY asked for this. It is XY’s selfish fear of falling in love with the “enemy” that leads to him not confessing and pushing her away. XL has nothing to gain from withholding his feelings from her. Therefore, I don’t see his actions as selfish at all to this point.

I won’t comment on the misunderstanding rg the brother’s affair with his fake sister since another has already commented.
