I just wanted to talk a little about the issue some people have with Sun being too forgiving. I totally get it,…
Just to let you know that at least one person read the whole thing. I haven't seen the episode yet, as it premiers at 1:00 AM my time. But I'm glad that Sun forgave Ongsa easily. I hate it when dramas unnecessarily drag out angst just to extend the episode count of the drama. Feel good fluffy dramas should be light on the angst, and heavy on the feels.
Hiya, I really want to watch this but I'm kinda scared off by the age gap. How old is Anueng exactly? Is it handled…
The age gap is central to the story line, so it NEEDS to be there. You'll understand if you watch it. The actresses have an 8 year gap in real life, but in the drama, there is (initially) a 16 year age. Nueng, the older woman is 36, and Anueng, the younger woman is 20, although she turns 21 in episode 4.
I've re-subbed the entire series. Check my profile if you want the files.
No. I use the English auto-translation as my starting point and simply fix the grammar and subtitle timings. When the auto-translation is so poor that the meaning is ambiguous, I use the context of the scene to help me work out what is being said. If that still isn't enough, I refer to the English translation of the novel. I will add that my focus is on the story telling, rather than a word for word translation, so I occasionally take some liberties with my "translation" to improve the viewers experience.
I haven't watched this yet but I'm confused. Are Sam and Mon the same as Sam and Mon from GAP but with different…
They are the SAME characters, but are played by different actors. Also, Nueng's Grandma is the same person from Gap, but again she is played by another actor. This series is set after the events of "Gap", but you don't need to have watched Gap to enjoy this show.
I've just finished the English subs for episode 6. This episode was quite a challenge.
They are available on my YouTube channel, but will probably only be there for a few days, as NineStarStudios will likely copyright strike me. Check my profile or search 'Phoebe Rise' on YouTube. I also have all episodes with their corresponding subtitle file available for download. Again, check my profile for the link to download them.
What exactly is the age difference?? Bc I hate when its only technically not wrong bc the younger one is just…
There is only 8 years age difference between the actresses in real life. Faye is 30 and Yoko is 22. In the drama, at the end of episode 6, Nueng is 36 and Anueng is 21.
The fuck was the ending ?! I wasn't prepared πππNeung needs to stop playing with Aneung's feelings. She's…
I agree with you, but I also understand why Nueng is trying hard to fight her feelings and to keep her relationship "appropriate" (in her own mind). In the book, Anueng is only 18 (which is still a minor in Thailand), and Nueng is her legal guardian at this point in the story. So the inappropriateness of the relationship is more pronounced in the book than in the drama where they aged Anueng to be 20, then 21. In the book, it's roughly equivalent to a woman having sex with her adopted daughter, and a good amount of the second half of the novel deals with the criticism that Nueng receives as a result of her relationship with Anueng while acting as her legal guardian.
I'll be extremely surprised (and disappointed) if they don't release a Season 2. They've only covered half the novel so far. They've already paid for the intellectual property and the fans are hungry for more, so what reason could there be to not release a second season? The only reason I can think of is that the second half of the novel is quite spicey.
This is what happens next according to the novel. I'm curious to see how closely the drama follows the novel during this last episode, because this scene occurs less than half way through the novel.
From the novel (End of Chapter 23)
We stare at each other in the dark. And that makes me reach my arm out to grab her neck and pull her in for a kiss. Our lips touch gently. There's nothing more than that. We just hold on to that touch for a while before we back away from each other. "Sweet dreams." "OK" Our conversation ends with that gentle touch. The petite one (Anueng) has no more questions and finally goes to sleep. That night was like a dream β¦ And we both pretended it never happened.
Its set in the same universe, and focusses on the eldest sister, Nueng. It is set after the events in Gap, as Sam and Mon are in it, as is their (evil) Grandma, although they are all played by different actresses than the in Gap. The important thing to understand is that you don't have to have watched Gap to enjoy this show.

Enjoy.
But if you've seen neither show, you may as well watch Gap first.
