Here ML is against heavyweights, FL has already consented to the wedding...imperial decree is to protect his loved one when she has already agreed...not force her... Imperial decree was brought out after constant pestering by Hu guy..not to force FL The plot of this drama is very coherent and consistent for genuine viewers following each episode closely and watching the drama unfold

Totally worth it...i haven't enjoyed a cdrma like this for quite a long time...characters dont fit into usual cdrama moulds...go in with no expectations and watch as the story unfolds, you'll be in for treat
Also well played Qingyaun...this way she doesn't get blamed for the wedding fiasco...SML doesn't know Qingyaun was part of the set-up...Marquis family now owes her...Madam Hu is out in front of everyone as a schemer...yet Qingyaun has to take no blame and can weasel out of this situation...well played girl!!! Truly her father's daughter
Honestly, FL just helped her eldest sister elope with Pie guy...and there are multiple evidence clearly pointing out FL loves ML..And the whole thing is a setup...yet how can people assume FL will throw her life away for revenge and marry SML just for his speech??!!! If FL really thought SML could help her she would hve revealed she is after her father and Madam Hu...Our girl hs more brains thn that....SMH
It is character driven suspense drama with story unfolding with each episode and gradual reveal...too many cryptic dialogues as well...if you have patience to let the story unfold then you are in for a treat...if you view it like a regular cdrama it is stil enjoyable but few parts will not be as entertaining
This drama needed 40 episodes...one has to process the scenes, the micro-expressions, the cryptic dialogue...they have had to pack too much into one episode without losing essence of the story...no wonder many people are missing out on so much

Nope she knew all along Madam Hu would do something to stop her from marrying SML, and had even agreed to play along...only she didn't anticipate Madam Hu would go to extent of killing her..
There's more context to it than that. It was unplanned. Everything happened so fast, and they were both swept…
I don't think she thought Madam Hu would go to extent of killing her...only stop the wedding.. But ML anticipated it and sent his brother to ensure his lady's safety
