Still a top tier production but like in many other 8 episode series this too would have benefited from having only one couple. I don’t like it when too much is crammed into a show with an already short runtime. Not every show needs to have side couples, especially if there is a limited amount of minutes to tell the story.

Might not be fully ready yet, but GMMTV never spends huge amounts of time or effort on their BL scripts as quantity over quality is their thing. They have their formula and stick to it.

Honestly if this is an 8 episode mini series like 4 minutes and shine I think it should only have one couple because it is hard to develop two or more well if the runtime is too short. BOC needs to get back to making full length series but I guess they lack the funds? like at this point I would rather they invest in a good script with longer episodes and good character development as opposed to prioritizing production value related stuff to the point that they run out of money before they can even hit the 10 episode mark. If I’m asked whether I would rather compromise on the script and character/relationship development or production value I would answer the latter. I much prefer a fully-developed story and characters with slightly above average cinematography over a series with top notch cinematography but limited development for everyone involved.

Definetly the GMMTV one will film first. HE script is not ready and Jeff will start filming My Chef in Crime in February.

I would love both BL and GL but as this is Mike’s show GL would be very unlikely (at this point I think the show has been shelved anyway though)

GMMTV had three distinct categories for the line up this year starting with GL then moving to Het/non romance then BL. Arrest and action was in the het/non romance category. And the thing is I would not have any issue with this show if it was a normal gen or het show but the way they play with romantic chemistry and incorporate queer elements in the show without any intention of going through with it and mocking people who want to see actual rep, that is what I find quite nasty. And fyi I do not ship these actors, in fact I find actor shipping quite off putting if I’m honest.

Also I never said I need kiss or sex scenes in my shows, you came up with that on your own. One of my favourite couples is actually Kimchay (a character ship mind you) from KP and they had neither lol

I like more mature series like KP/DFF/HE more so I think I’m gonna skip this one but of course still wish the best for everyone involved in it, I hope they have fun.

I’m glad that there are still at least some people who understand how problematic this show and the stuff surrounding it is. People often throw around the word queerbaiting without knowing what it entails but this is like actual textbook queerbaiting . Also it is totally fine if some people don’t want to play in a BL for reasons like being uncomfortable with actor shipping etc. but in that case just act in het or gen series instead of making whatever this is lol There must be so much homophobia going on behind the scenes that we just do not get to see. The sad thing is that for many fans none of this is a dealbreaker at all, but I guess that tells a lot about those people so there’s that😬

I guess I’m glad that the project is still on for now, but I wish Jeff would not keep saying that Happy Ending is coming soon or that it is close if it is not true. Like I understand that he might resort to some white lies cause he does not want to disappoint people who are waiting but I would rather he just be upfront if it is still gonna take a year or two (or three lol) Like I would be way less bummed with how long it is taking if he had refrained from saying that HE will air at the end of this year or early next year (also he said it less than 6 months ago so no way he wasn’t perfectly aware back then that they could never make it for that timing)

This looks less expensive than I expected…….

GMMTV has learned that they can do just bromance and the fans will still eat it up, just like they have learned that they can do bad low-budget BLs and people will still tune in. Just watch, there will be an influx of bromance dramas and bromance pairs in the coming years. Must be very reassuring for any homophobic actors out there to know that there is a way for them to make it big in the industry without having to commit to any actual queer roles.

I hope this is good and kickstarts a whole new era of expensive BL and GL on Netflix and other famous streaming sites like HBO (a girl can dream) I’m so tired of low budgets and bad scripts
