I initially thought it might be but now I’m pretty convinced it won’t. Jeff has hinted that this is a very personal project, so it’s likely at least somewhat autobiographical but with a fantasy/mystery twist. Also the fact that Jeff and Pluviophile are the writers— Jeff might be positive about acting in BL/queer work outside of his own studio but I doubt they would write a BL or queer role for Jeff themselves due to the meta nature of the work. I wouldn’t even be surprised if Jeff and Vivi make a cameo in the series as themselves as they are the real authors lol) At best there might exist fan fiction within the world of the series featuring Damwin for comedy, and that is what I suspect the script snippet we got was.Jeff also recently revealed his hollywood dreams, so if Happy ending even happens he probably wants to keep it very mainstream. He definetly uses intentional ambiguity in the marketing to maximize engagement during development though 😅 I wish he did not do that.
Jeff maybe a dreamer but he Isn't dumb, he is strategic and very intentional. If he dangeling carrots, it's because…
I as well think funding is definetly one reason why they have not been able to start production, as well as the scriptrewrites. But the thing is if he is being too ambitious or too perfectionist he might never be able to gather the amount of money he needs. Also if he is aiming for the ”perfect script” that can be dangerous too, as there exists no such thing. Perfectionism can often lead to something never getting finished as they might always feel it’s not good enough.

I mean he obviously really wants the series to happen but after this long I need something tangible like a platform announcement in order to fully believe a project exists. So many series from different studios and creators end up on the shelf at different stages of the development process. I really do hope they pull through though!
According to this article, Happy Ending is slated for release in Q2. I don’t see how that is possible though since as far as we know no filming has started (also Jeff is definetly filming something that is NOT Happy Ending right now)Did they film in secret last year (I doubt it but if yes then he does deserve all the awards lol) or is this just to create hype without intention of real delivery? Idk but something smells fishy. What is being said does not seem to match what is actually happening (and it is a pattern now)What I’m trying to say is that when it comes to series production actions carry more weight than words…..also interestingly, Jeff always talks about airing/release for HE and never says anything about filming. Skipping this step in his ”updates” is really making me raise my eyebrows. A series cannot air if it has not been made first. Sometimes I feel like his updates are what he hopes would be true (he is a dreamer personality after all)and not a reflection of the actual state of things.
The above article also claims a 2026 release. I’m inclined to think Jeff is dangling carrots again but time will tell. I tentatively try to trust him this final time (cannot trust him blindly like many do though)but based on everything I’m concerned that they have encountered significant issues behind the scenes that he is just reluctant to talk about and covering up with hype.It is also a very likely possibility that he is giving false release windows in an attempt to maintain momentum for the series while he is fully aware that it is actually still at only the concept stage (and on a probably long hiatus while he works on his other acting projects). And we know what usually eventually happens to projects that get pushed back again and again for years……
fwiw, if SOS does actually move to sue Studio Genie or whoever now owns the rights to this drama, a huge good…
I also don’t think they could win a lawsuit because they don’t own any rights when it comes to the footage. Actors cannot just sue a company for releasing a series they filmed and agreed to be in at the time.At this point if the series actually releases I’m in it more for the drama than for the actual series 😅☠️😂
Then I hope they have better cinematography and editing than Dare you to death. GMMTV really needs to increase…
The editing can be fixed more easily in comparison to cinematography for sure, as that requires more 💵💵I think this has their usual BL budget as it’s unlikely GMMTV has suddenly seen the light. However, instead of making 10 episodes that look cheap P’Aof could have deliberately chosen to make the series shorter to afford better production value per episode with the meagre budget they have.
if you love thai BL in particular i mean to offense, i just am looking for different things and i dont usually…
I know what you mean. So far I’ve only genuinely loved this and Kinnporsche, and to a lesser extent Khemjira. The industry is evolving but they are not quite there yet (neither is any other country though)
Only 5 episodes... something tells me this is gonna be on Netflix.
Then I hope they have better cinematography and editing than Dare you to death. GMMTV really needs to increase budget for at least those BLs that they want to place on big platforms😅
I think he's just sending candles to friends and ppl he's close with. Jimmy from Last Twilight got one too, along…
I mean yeah it’s not impossible there would be a side couple but I just think it’s improbable. I’m currently leaning towards Kinn appearing in the series solo as a supporting character due to the interview.
Although I’m undecided myself yet whether I will watch this, I hope it is a big hit so that investors will be less scared to put big money on series with same sex leads. Another success relatively close after Khemjira could really change perceptions in the industry.
