Title Legally Romance Spoiler
I think it could be The Painted Veil, same book he takes off the shelf in ep 3 as well as what he had on his bookshelf…
And let's be very thankful that the end of this drama won't end like The Painted Veil does!! (tears)

Already came back , she woke up ... I suggest you to not skip any episode or part rather continue watching it…
It's not a waste of time at all, because we get to see WHY she chooses to make the new decisions that she does. Also there are important scenes with her family.

The director actually toned this down from how it was in the manwha, where Taesung actually pressed multiple kisses…
"Please give me evidence of East Asian people freaking out about light sexual aggression in BL mangas and shows."
As HIStory4: Close to You was airing, I was hearing that folks in Taiwan were quite upset about the stepbrother rape plotline and voiced their displeasure quite openly. The MDL page on that BL is full of people voicing their complaints, and they're from all over the world, East Asia included. I have very good Korean friends who are horrified by sexual violence in all of its forms (manhwas included.) So not ALL complaints come from BIPOC folks in America like you're claiming. (Also, folks from East Asia are people of color themselves, so...?) And your statement: "Again, these are American people of color who have been Americanized to be politically correct" honestly makes zero sense. American people of color don't have to be "Americanized" because they're already Americans to begin with.

Your statement: "Nobody living in actual East Asia gives a shit about this stuff" is also just patently untrue. It's like saying that Americans must not have any trouble with sexual violence in media because our tv shows have high ratings, or that all Americans must love guns because there are more guns than people in the country. Or better yet, all Americans must love porn because it's consumed online every minute of the day. All of statements are abjectly false (and as an actual American, I don't like any of those things so those absolute statements aren't absolute anymore.)

The little bit of romance in this drama was a much-needed distraction from all of the death, sadness, betrayal, and loss. Stop complaining about the romance and please just let us enjoy a few sweet scenes that don't have all of the crying and death, for f%%s sake.

Title To Fly with You Spoiler
I did think her redemption "arc" (if you can call it that even) was done so poorly and quickly it gave me whiplash.…
YES. I was initially rooting for that couple and then after they got back together they seemed almost weird together.

#1 dislike in C-dramas: DUBBING. Hearing some actors too-breathy of voices and unrealistic made up background noises sets my teeth on edge and I just stop watching. The best C-dramas I've watched have had no dubbing.

#2 dislike: Why are there so many freaking episodes sometimes??! I really liked certain aspects of say, To Fly With You, Dating in the Kitchen, or Count Your Lucky Stars, (except the terrible dubbing), but there were too many fillers that made everything sag in the middle like a wet diaper, and I had to start fast forwarding to make it to the end - losing interest in some of what was intriguing about the drama in the first place. Tightening it all up in the middle and getting rid of unnecessary plot and character points would help this immensely.

#3 dislike: So many sound, editing, and continuity issues! Sound, which is essential to any drama, is not a strong suit of some of the C-dramas I've watched. And some scenes seem like they were just dropped in the middle of a drama with no rhyme or reason or connection to any scene before or after. I've also watched too many scenes where characters went underwater one second and had completely dry hair the very next second. That's a continuity issue and it's very annoying.

#4 dislike: FLs that talk like they're babies or toddlers having a tantrum. Dear Lord, I hate that so much. Sometimes I just want to scream at the screen and tell them to speak like they're big girls. I don't find that cute or funny or appealing at all (in any language, frankly.) Ditto to other commenters who have complained about female characters who are made to look dumb or clueless, all while propping up the superhuman men who can do no wrong. It's misogyny on display.

#5 dislike: Unbearable and over-involved parents. It's somewhat cultural, I know, but it's very hard to watch and leaves a bad taste overall.

Writing all this out makes me realize again what an AMAZING drama Legally Romance is so far!!! We get to hear Z.Tao's own gorgeous voice and Song Zu Er's FL is strong, smart, capable, and creative, and she's able to show love and care to her parents and brother and boyfriend.

Agreed! Just one more example of a drama with too many episodes. I actually really liked the drama, generally, but a few of these side characters I actively disliked and thought we didn't need to see nearly as much of.

Well this is also not a time travel. But it was just her dream when she was in coma ;)
I think the dream part was the drama writers' way of getting around the time travel ban?

I am loving this drama SO MUCH so far!! After watching the first three or four episodes I realized that I love love love Z.Tao (it was my first time ever seeing him in anything.) Because of that, the wait between episodes of this drama became so excruciating that I went and binge-watched Brightest Star in the Sky and started listening to his music as well. :-)
I was not actually that big of a C-drama fan before this, (dubbing, sound issues, and too many episodes!) but I did finish To Fly With You, and Song Zu Er is my new favorite - she is incredibly talented and I will definitely watch more of her dramas.
Thanks for the article!
