True. Xiao Bao is already indebted to Su Yin and adding romantic feelings into that won't be easy for Xiao Bao cos while he genuinely cares for Su Yin, he is crazy in love with Huai En.

I don't think they've changed it in the drama, from the last episode he said he'd find a girl for Xiaobao to marry when he gets better and live a happy life. Su Yin's character in the novel is as is in the drama. He cares for Xiaobao and wants him to be happy.
Although they've reworked / condensed parts of the plot to fit 12 episodes, I haven't noticed changes in the main characters' storylines. But we'll see in the upcoming episodes, maybe they did change Su Yin's.
😭 don't read the novel. I regretted reading it. I should have waited after the series. In the meantime you can watch shorts/reels. Plenty of them around.
I'll rewatch everything as soon as the series ends 😊
Yes, his father is the emperor and he is the crown prince. This got him some sort of protection cos nobody would dare touch him, not Su Yin nor his uncles. But he didn't want to be a king and refused his father's offer to go live in the palace. He didn't want anything to do with the imperial family. In fact his only request from the emperor was to remove the Zong Zheng surname from his name. He wanted to take the "Jin" surname. I guess Xiaobao really got himself a wife 😊
