I'll rewatch everything as soon as the series ends ๐
Well a whole lot of mess happened. Will try to list key points that focus on the main characters.
- HuaiEn begged XiaoBao to take him back but XiaoBao told him to get lost and die. Lots of angst here. - HuaiEn held XiaoBao's parents hostage in exchange for XiaoBao. This is when he finds out what happened to XiaoBao and the cold poison. More angst. - HuaiEn risked his life to search for Dahlian flowers to cure XiaoBao of the cold poison. Su Yin made things difficult for him but he was determined. - Huaien's real father was revealed. - XiaoBao asked HuaiEn one last thing before they can try being together again, to bring his sister XiaoYu back. This almost cost his life. HuaiEn was in the brink of death several times before they finally had their happy ending.
I really hope they include the extra chapter to show how much HuaiEn had changed. In the end we can say that XiaoBao really had taught HuaiEn what love is.
I usually turn away from shows if theyโre clearly low budget and have questionable scenes but Iโve been obsessed…
Same. But usually the deal breaker for me is acting. If the actors are cringey, I just drop it. The actors are doing a decent, good job here, so I stick around.
I love Su Yin so much it is hard to not root for him and Xiaobao together because he just treats him so well I…
They're friends. They care about each other but not romantically. For Su Yin it's more of a responsibility. Since they were kids, he has always been a "fixer" of Xiaobao's troubles. At first it was out of gratitude as his father is indebted to Xiaobao's father. But over the years, they became like brothers.
In a spoiler just in case:Yes, in the novel there is a side couple (Jin Bao and Que Siming). It's not explored…
In the novel, even Huaien couldn't understand why Xiaobao was so interested in him, other than his beauty. He was actually worried that if he gets old and lost his beauty, Xiaobao may not like him anymore and like someone else. This contributes to his possessiveness of Xiaobao.
One funny scene in episode 2, Xiaobao's convo with his bodyguards might add context. He said, "I am obviously not inlove but why do I see Huaien's face in the faces of other women? Why can't I stop thinking of him?" Jinbao answered, "that's just love," and added "what one cannot get is what one wants the most".
Perhaps Xiaobao was challenged because Huiaen was so cold to him, not giving him the time of day. Or perhaps, it was love at first sight, he really did fell for Huaien the moment he saw him.
I wonder how long itโll take Xiaobao and Huaien to reconcile. In the ep 9 teaser, Huaien expresses that he wants…
They'll probably reconcile in the last two episodes. In the novel it took awhile. And I'm glad it did. Huaien had to go through a lot, and it took a near death experience before Xiaobao realized he didn't want him to die.
Mmm ... I don't know ... I love it but I feel like I am missing a lot of things ... Like it's going too slow but…
Reading the novel will definitely fill in the gaps, back stories, and help understand the plot and characters. At the same time, I advice not to read the novel while the drama is ongoing as it won't be as exciting. Also, the novel goes dark in the second half. But if you still want to read it, you can find the link in the discussions section.
The episode was devastating but Xiao bao was looking so damn hot in those scenes ๐ฅบ๐I can't help to admire…
Takes me back to when Xiaobao asked Huaein something like "what did you ever see in me..." I too wonder what made Huaein finally gave in to Xiaobao's persistence... I have to read back while waiting for tonight's episode ๐๐ญ
I want nothing more than more scenes of my dimples couple but the way the episodes are paced, I think 12 are enough.…
I don't know the standard length of danmei novels as this is the first one I've read, but this has 118 chapters. For me it's quite long and I thought they'd only be able to present half of the novel in 12 episodes. But the drama is quite fast paced. I wished they had shown more scenes to add context and all but I guess they're limited with what they can do. The drama is more like a concise / condensed version of the novel. But I still appreciate all their hard work. I hope this is only the beginning.
