I’m glad you were able to resonate with my article. :)
My favorite couple from this list is probably Cong Rong and Shao Qing. They really just understood each other and I could feel the love within every episode. It’s also one of those romance dramas where they get together early so we get to see many more moments, misunderstandings, comedy & reassurance between the two.
I’ve already watched most the dramas listed but I definitely plan to check out Remembrance of Things Past and Go Ahead.
I’d recommend for anyone who needs + wants more healthy couples to check out You Are My Glory, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha & Who Rules the World.
DBY was truly my introduction into Taiwanese dramas and also holds a special place in my heart because those dramas just have a special charm about them.
I didn’t include her filmography because I didn’t want the article to be super long but I plan to write on it in the future!
This is a beautifully written + aesthetically pleasing article for Lusi, it was definitely long overdue!
I’m hoping that my feelings on this don’t change towards the end 😂
That was the last straw for me though.
However as far as the character development goes, I still didn't quite see enough of that to satisfy me. A lot of part 2 included Changyi and Yunhe making decisions on their own, (i.e. Changyi confining Yunhe, Yunhe deciding to sacrifice herself for the Flower Valley). It only happens in the last couple of episodes, when she is reformed and finds her memories again that they start to work together towards a common goal. And even then in the last episode (unless I'm remembering incorrectly because it's been almost a month since my comment), Yunhe still makes the decision on her own to jump into the lava to seal Shunde in the volcano.
I do appreciate your comments in response to me though, It's always interesting & I end up learning something from other perspectives of the same story.
This article is also well decorated, great job.
I also admire how Orchid was described. She isn't this weak-minded character that most people mistake her for at first glance. She is strong and she's willing to stand up for herself/what she believes in. Her character progression is actually really good throughout the story, but Dongcang's is what really stole my heart. He changed for the better and the two balance each other out making an even stronger duo.
As a romance fanatic, LBFD is a fantastic romance and a great drama. I got so many memories of how I felt while I was watching this a month ago. Now I think I'm going to rewatch it after I finish Immortal Samsara lol!
Thanks for writing this! :)
Yun He telling Chang Yi that she thought she wanted freedom but she later realized she wanted to be bound, bothered me. Because the entire show she was captive and naturally someone as free-spirited as her, wouldn’t settle for being bound. I could understand wanting to be with Chang Yi but not at the sake of her freedom.
Everyone coming to life at the ending was not enough to make me rate this season above a 7. The saving grace of this drama is truly the acting.
