Thank you so much for this fun article about Rainie! She is a very talented and beautiful multi-talented star.…
Thank you for continuing to be a fan of Rainie! I love seeing this support of her.

OMG THIS POST. LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IT!I literally have watched every one of her dramas and movies. This brought…
I definitely agree with you! At one point after discovering Rainie, all I watched were Taiwanese dramas. Then I had to start moving onto others because of the reasons you stated.

I’m glad you were able to resonate with my article. :)

Love this article! I do wish there was pictures (unless I just can’t see them on mobile) but I love the details put into this. Thanks for including Chef Hua, I feel like not enough people really know about that one and it’s such a good comfort/peaceful romance when you’re tired of the more intense dramas.

My favorite couple from this list is probably Cong Rong and Shao Qing. They really just understood each other and I could feel the love within every episode. It’s also one of those romance dramas where they get together early so we get to see many more moments, misunderstandings, comedy & reassurance between the two.

I’ve already watched most the dramas listed but I definitely plan to check out Remembrance of Things Past and Go Ahead.

I’d recommend for anyone who needs + wants more healthy couples to check out You Are My Glory, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha & Who Rules the World.

My favourite side characters were Emperor, Consort Yue and Empress Xuan. The Emperor is my favourite goof ball…
Very well said! I feel the exact same as you.

Reading your article and watching "Like a Star" music video made me take a walk down memory lane. I can't believe…
Thanks so much for this detailed comment! I’m glad to see there are many Rainie fans as I am.

DBY was truly my introduction into Taiwanese dramas and also holds a special place in my heart because those dramas just have a special charm about them.

I didn’t include her filmography because I didn’t want the article to be super long but I plan to write on it in the future!

My favorite dramas from her thus far are Who Rules The World and Love Like the Galaxy. I feel like Lusi is so versatile in her roles, she can give us a hilarious comedic role and flip the switch and do a more mature + strong female lead role with ease. She's definitely grown from the first drama I've seen her in "I hear you." I'm looking forward to many more of her works.

This is a beautifully written + aesthetically pleasing article for Lusi, it was definitely long overdue!

I’ve only reached episode 37 but I wanted to share that besides Niao Niao, Consort Yue is one of my favorite characters of the story. It’s refreshing to see a character that even despite societal pressures trying to sway her towards evil (i.e her daughter) or inciting her to become jealous over empress, she overcomes and is her own person with her own thoughts. I’m used to historical dramas where the child is influenced by the parent’s evil deeds and then in turn causes harm to others, but this is one of the first times where I’m able to see so many clearheaded adults with high authority. They know right from wrong and it’s been an interesting watch thus far.

I’m hoping that my feelings on this don’t change towards the end 😂

I vividly remember dropping Meteor Garden when he threw a plate of food into the poor FL's face. Although, It was so long ago that I can't remember if it was a fever dream or not lol

That was the last straw for me though.

I think you missed the 2nd part of the bound comment. She said it right after that. She likes to be bound as in…
Also, I don't think that when people have differences of opinion it automatically means that they are "jumping on the bandwagon" per say. I think it's just a matter of certain aspects of the drama not being someone else's cup of tea and that's totally okay. I'm a Dilireba fan, so naturally I was excited for this drama, but I can still admit that in my opinion, as far as the story goes, it was a complete rollercoaster.

I think you missed the 2nd part of the bound comment. She said it right after that. She likes to be bound as in…
It could be that I misinterpreted what she meant by the bound comment, so thanks for explaining that! Looking at it in this light, I can understand what made her change in that aspect.

However as far as the character development goes, I still didn't quite see enough of that to satisfy me. A lot of part 2 included Changyi and Yunhe making decisions on their own, (i.e. Changyi confining Yunhe, Yunhe deciding to sacrifice herself for the Flower Valley). It only happens in the last couple of episodes, when she is reformed and finds her memories again that they start to work together towards a common goal. And even then in the last episode (unless I'm remembering incorrectly because it's been almost a month since my comment), Yunhe still makes the decision on her own to jump into the lava to seal Shunde in the volcano.

I do appreciate your comments in response to me though, It's always interesting & I end up learning something from other perspectives of the same story.

As Yu Mo is my favorite character of IS, I really wished that by the end of the show he would've lived for himself just a bit. He spent the entire show living to protect Yan Dan and while I appreciate he wasn't overbearing in his love for Yan Dan, I wanted him to move on and love someone new.

He was the HE since the "ending" of the demon god war, about the time Ying Yuan almost died due to the poison
Oooh gotcha, thanks.

Love this article! Cheng Yi is really a multifaceted actor from what I've seen through his dramas. I feel like his greatest trait/what makes him an asset as an actor is he's really good at showing emotion and capturing you into the story, especially in his more angst heavy works (i.e. L&R, Stand By Me, Immortal Samsara). I never knew he had such a hard start to stardom, it's lovely to see he's getting the shine that he deserves.

This article is also well decorated, great job.

I love this article so much! I'm in awe of how beautifully detailed it is with context such as when it explained and provided pictures on the costumes of LBFD. I think we can all agree that Orchid's wardrobe was simply to die for.

I also admire how Orchid was described. She isn't this weak-minded character that most people mistake her for at first glance. She is strong and she's willing to stand up for herself/what she believes in. Her character progression is actually really good throughout the story, but Dongcang's is what really stole my heart. He changed for the better and the two balance each other out making an even stronger duo.

As a romance fanatic, LBFD is a fantastic romance and a great drama. I got so many memories of how I felt while I was watching this a month ago. Now I think I'm going to rewatch it after I finish Immortal Samsara lol!

Thanks for writing this! :)

They just met once around episodes 5-6 and Ying Yuan didn't let YM see his face, pretty crazy, right?
Ahhh! I forgot about that omg. Thanks for answering!

Title The Blue Whisper: Part 2 Spoiler
Part 2 just isn’t my cup of tea. There’s just too much going on and not enough development to satisfy me. We never even got to see Chang Yi’s home or family in the end lol. It’s almost like Chang Yi being a merman and having a home disappeared by part 2.

Yun He telling Chang Yi that she thought she wanted freedom but she later realized she wanted to be bound, bothered me. Because the entire show she was captive and naturally someone as free-spirited as her, wouldn’t settle for being bound. I could understand wanting to be with Chang Yi but not at the sake of her freedom.

Everyone coming to life at the ending was not enough to make me rate this season above a 7. The saving grace of this drama is truly the acting.

how much sadness does this drama have? i tend to avoid xianxia bc of tragedy
It's not as bad as the blue whisper that's for sure lol. There are very few sad scenes in this drama from what I remember and they get resolved fairly quickly (i.e. within episodes). I think I only cried once towards the end, and there is a HEA.
