Love this list! I happened on it by chance but now I have many more dramas to add to my PTW list 😂

My top vote would have to go to the Under the Power couple though. I felt so much chemistry there!~

Title Heart of Loyalty Spoiler
I watched this drama for Caesar Wu and my interest in romance, and while it’s not my favorite drama, it was…
Some spoiler thoughts I had while watching:

In episode 20 after Zhao leaves because he’s going to “die”, it jumps from Mo Yan being sick for half a month and her brother explaining that Zhao already died. How did Mo Yan get off the mountain? How did Six Jin find Mo Yan to bring her to Shuzhong? How did Mo Yan get sick? The abruptness in the scene change made it hard for me to even feel upset over Zhao potentially being dead.

I’m also disappointed we never got to see all the six evils of Shuzhong or Shuzhong itself.

Lastly, I’ll never forget the deaths of Wei Wei and 5th brother. If they killed off the princess too that would’ve been the last straw for me lol

I watched this drama for Caesar Wu and my interest in romance, and while it’s not my favorite drama, it was still an enjoyable watch. I found myself laughing at Mo Yan’s quirkiness and the personalities of the side characters (esp. Six Jin). Although I laughed a lot while watching this, I do feel like some scenes were rushed or under-explained.

I think the romance could’ve been executed better. I’m not sure if it was a script or chemistry issue but the scenes between the two leads just didn’t feel like enough. There are definitely some cute scenes that make you smile but they are a few and far between, so I don’t think this would be my pick for a satisfying romance. I think that this later contributed to my interest majorly being on the sixth brother and the princess’s relationship over the main couple.

Other than that, I feel I can rate this drama a 7/10. I did enjoy most of the scenes and I didn’t feel bored or as if there were too many episodes. This was a good watch but it could’ve been way better. The last 20 minutes of the final episode was a very satisfying end though! I’ll give this drama that.

I just finished watching a drama that did EXACTLY what you said lol. Lots of misunderstandings, separations, deaths,…
Ahhh!! That’s the one I was going to watch soon LOL. Omg i’m definitely not looking forward to that anguish. I’m still going to watch it though. 😂

I’ve seen it happen more than I can count 😭.
I’m curious, which drama was that?

I recommended this drama to all my friends and they love/hate me now. Love me because of how interesting the drama is, but hate me because it’s ongoing and now they have to wait for episodes like me 😭

The hardest part is waiting a week for the next ep.

Title Who Rules the World Spoiler
This drama was enjoyable. I think that the plot was interesting enough to last until 40 episodes. There are a…
Xiyun’s family compared to Lanxi’s is probably the best I’ve seen in a period drama. Her family let her live freely in the martial world even though she’s a princess. She has no scheming siblings and her father cares for her dearly. That was a beautiful thing to see in the ending episodes. I was really hoping they wouldn't kill her family off. I was hoping they would’ve at least left the brother so that Xiyun wouldn't be completely without a family.

Also, I felt the ending was bittersweet because I don't know how to feel about Xiyun/Fengxi giving up her position as the lady. She's the only one of her family left, so if she leaves, it's kind of like her family's legacy is gone. But on the other end of things, I could understand her wanting to spend the days she has left with Lanxi. Furthermore, we knew since the beginning of the drama that all she wanted was a carefree life doing what she wanted, so the ending was very fitting in that sense!

This drama was enjoyable. I think that the plot was interesting enough to last until 40 episodes. There are a bit more politics than I would’ve liked, but I think it added to the conflict (which was interesting for the most part) and character progressions.

I loved the main actors, this is the first Zhao Lu Si drama that I really enjoyed with her as a lead (I haven’t seen many dramas with her as a lead yet, this drama would make the 3rd). Her character was also my favorite of the entire drama. I loved that she had this overwhelming passion for helping people and it never changed throughout the drama. It was also refreshing to see the many emotions that Yang Yang can show, because compared to his performance in Love o2o, this was much better.

I don’t have much complaints about the romance either because I’m happy they didn’t have any serious misunderstandings, breakups or angst that would keep them apart for multiple episodes. I also felt that the main actors have sizzling chemistry. In any other period drama they would’ve separated the main couple for the last 10 episodes and then on the final episode 10 they would’ve brought them back together within the last 10 minutes. I love that this drama did NOT do that.

I have mixed feelings about the ending (which I'll include in a spoiler note below).
It is bittersweet but I think it's very fitting.

Thanks so much for this comment. It's particularly helpful to me as I was looking forward to a romance.

Title With You
Recently watched Tang Song in Under the Power and somehow I completely forgot about watching this drama. My brain thought I saw her for the first time in UTP. How time flies.

Really loved the first half of the series but as the episodes went on, I found the investigations to be lackluster. I'm also a romance fanatic, so I was disappointed that there was probably 10% romance involved here. I'm okay with that being the case as long as the plot is interesting but I felt like the story lost my interest along the way to the ending.

Despite this, I enjoyed the main characters and meeting all these actors that I'd never seen before in my dramas.

This drama is sooooo good. This has been the first time in a long time that I've actually watched something while it was airing. Praying for a happy ending.

I'm currently on episode 8 and I'm sorta enjoying it so far. I wish that the FL had a little less of the childish trope that dramas seem to bring to female character. I don't mind when a character is playful or quirky (i.e. Jin Xia from Under the Power) but this FL seems a bit too.. much for my liking. I'm hoping it tones down as the drama progresses.

Also, I'm curious.. is the ML's voice dubbed? It really doesn't look like his speaking matches with the voice at all. (I know usually in C-dramas, majority of the cast is dubbed but I've never noticed a dubbed voice this much in a drama before).

[Episode 11 Spoiler]What happened exactly when Xing Kelei was cooking at Mi Ka's home. He holds her on the door…
Yeah I don't have the slightest clue either. I replayed the scene to understand but it looks like he might've just been teasing her. Not sure.

I’m halfway through the drama and although I’m typically not interested in doctor dramas or military/police related dramas, I was drawn into the story between the leads from the first episode. Their chemistry so far is amazing and I enjoyed seeing them fall for each other.

Unfortunately, I’m on episode 26 and I’m finding myself skipping around alot because I’m losing interest. The second couple is pretty frustrating and their path to romance is too slow without enough reason for it. Lastly, The third couple doesn’t interest me in the slightest.

The leads are cute, Mi Ka’s smile is gorgeous and Kei Lei looks so good in his uniform, but there doesn’t feel like enough plot to keep my interest. Also, I sincerely wanted better for Mi Ka’s wardrobe.

I haven’t finished this drama yet but I do feel like the current rating for it is very generous. I can see myself rating this a 7 or 7.5 after finishing.
On Under the Power Jun 16, 2022
I loved this drama so much. The main couple is probably my favorite in all the dramas i've seen. I just wish the last couple of episodes were spent with them together and not apart.

It seems like it's a trend in dramas for the last couple of episodes to be tumultuous until the very last one or the last couple minutes of the last episode.

Title Under the Power Spoiler
I’m obsessed with this drama! I’m about halfway in and it’s been good so far. I’m not crazy about the second lead couple. I thought once Yang Yue crawled like a dog for Shangguang, she’d be able to accept him but of course not, their scenes are almost unbearable. Her obsession over Xiao Xie could’ve easily been over if she’d just been upfront with him and worked on getting over him. Instead we have to watch 30+ episodes of her rejecting someone who loves her for someone who doesn’t.

I’m also not crazy about the cases happening behind the scenes. They don’t interest me as much as I thought they’d would.

Despite all of that though, this is my first time seeing the leads in a drama and I really like
their acting. Their chemistry is even more explosive. I hope this drama will end good.

I love this drama. The comedy, the bromance and the cases were very interesting. But dear god, that ending.. we need a season 2 immediatedly.
