Just as an FYI, I haven’t finished the drama but I’m four episodes from finishing. There aren’t ALOT of romance scenes but there are some that show you the feelings of the characters.

If I’m honest I don’t know how to feel about the romance. It feels almost random to me, it’s hard to feel the chemistry for the main couple because I don’t really understand his pull towards her and vice versa other than the fact that she has protected him. There isn’t really a progression of feelings like in other dramas, you can just tell they like each other in the beginning and later they start acting towards it.

I also feel that way about the secondary couple. He likes her super quickly but again, it feels so random.

I still plan on rating this drama high though because the cases are interesting and the bromance between the male leads is amazing.

I think the bromance is far more interesting than the romance and this is coming from a girl who typically watches dramas solely for romance.

Loved this drama! I was happy to se Zheng Ye Cheng in something I actually enjoyed since I unfortunately had to drop Sleepless Princess. This drama was funny and the romance was pretty good. Great chemistry and an easy-going watch if you compare this to the angst you'd felt in L&R.

So So Handsome. Can't wait to see him in new roles! Loved him in Maiden Holmes.

Recently I've been watching so many chinese dramas and I seriously didn't know this many characters/actors I've been listening to were dubbed. (I'd heard some stories but never really investigated about it). This is super interesting. Now I'm wondering what some of my favorite Chinese actors actually sound like.

Is there a way to tell when a voice has been dubbed in a drama? I think because I don't know any language other than English, I can't really tell when the lip sync is off.

This'll be my third drama seeing Yang Xi Zi in a support role with Cheng Yi lol

Very peaceful/feel-good drama. I watched this drama because I'm a fan of Tang Min. This drama is a good break from the typical complex historical drama and I'm a huge foodie so I'm happy to watch shows that involve food and love. I've smiled, I've laughed. I recommend to anyone in need of a easy-going romance drama. :)

Lol, I know what you mean and I felt the same way at first. Somehow I was able to get over it because he looks quite handsome when he smiles.

I'm watching it on YT and I've checked a few other websites and they are still pretty bad. Sometimes the music get's silenced on youtube as well, so there are weird sound effects in the background.

I’m only on episode 4, but It’s so hard for me to get into this drama. I love the female lead’s acting as I watched her previously in “A river runs through it.” However, the male lead doesn’t even seem like he’s speaking naturally, his movements and speaking look very robotic/forced almost like he’s made of stone. The subtitles on youtube and other websites are also pretty bad.

Unfortunately I ended up dropping this drama. I was really looking forward to seeing the FL and ML again, but I just couldnt do the bad subtitles and cheesy misunderstandings.

Cute + comedic drama, I watched this modern drama to take a break from my period/historical dramas.

I really liked the main leads and their chemistry seemed so natural that at times I felt like I was watching someone’s private moments lol. It’s sweet and I found myself laughing or smiling almost everytime they were on screen.

The only reason I can’t rate it above a 6.5 is that there was so much time for the support leads and I wasn’t interested in any of their relationships at all. I tried to be into the drama with JingJing’s marriage and DuoXi’s relationship but I felt it was very lackluster. I also wasn’t keen on the other pairing they were forming (I won’t share because it’s kind of a spoiler).

Nonetheless, it was a cute drama with great music! I loved the main leads, the ending made me cry out of happiness, the main leads really do it big when they show their love, and it’s so sweet.
This is my first time seeing the main leads and I’ll definitely check out their other works.

My rating is 6.5/10!

Fantastic drama, i'll admit that some of the cases were a bit lackluster to me but I always enjoyed the main couples presence and moments together throughout the drama. I just wish we saw more fighting scenes from Prince Qi especially in the final episode. But this was otherwise a well-thought out drama. 8/10!

The ending was so satisfying!!
I cried some serious tears of joy. It’s something about watching the progression of their love that made me so much happier to see them together. I just wish Xiaoju realized her feelings sooner and I wish we got clips of them as a couple.

It was still a good drama though. Since there was so many cute/wholesome interactions with Shiyi and Xiaoju, I’m not super upset that they got together in the very last minutes.

On episode 23 and I’m liking the drama so far. Deciding to take a break from my historical binge, I started this drama about two days ago with initial interest in Wang Rui Chang from his role in The Long Ballad. I’m instantly a fan of Hu Yi Xuan.

I do have a small pet peeve which is with the slow pacing of this drama into forming the main couple.

It's worth the watch. I found out halfway through that the ending would be sad. But I feel like it was well worth my time completing it. It was interesting enough.

They have almost all the main cast from L&R, how funny would’ve been if Xuan Ji was somewhere in here lol.

This drama is easily becoming one of my favorite comfort dramas and I'm already on episode 12. <3 I just wish the confession took a little bit more time to progress.

Interesting last episode. I can see where people felt confused with all the random flashbacks and multiple different scenes mixed in. 7/10 for me. I don’t regret watching though because out of this, I finally become a fan of Bai Lu.
