How do you know it's a mental struggle and not her and the director's interpretation of her character? She didn't…
If that's the case then it's even more unfortunate. As she talks sometimes she lowers her head and her eyes move as if she's reciting what she's saying, other times when the camera isn't focused on her, she seems focused on something other than her character or the scenario that's being played out, it's almost as if she doesn't know the camera is still focused on her. I know people are trying to say its bcoz she doesn't have proper education and lacks confidence but if that were the case I should be able to read a kind of frustration and anger even though she doesn't know how to use the words, instead it feels a bit forced or as if she's pouting and throwing a child's tantrum. I don't know it's just the way I interprete it, it's not the same for everyone. I just feel the acting is inconsistent and doesn't fully shape the role.
7.7? Ugh dramas that aren't cookie cutter and are more mature or don't follow the usual tropes always get rated…
I'm always looking for unusual and mature but if you're into kdramas you should know there's nothing new here, we've seen it all. Secondly this was supposed to be mystery but they were sloppy on the delivery of that aspect and gave us romance instead. It would have been ok if they had continued on the momentum of episodes 1-8 but the last four episodes were anticlimactic. I think the score is justified.
I don't understand how Cheng Cheng and Gao Lin fell/jumped out of that window and didn't break any bones, with the way house is propped on that hill there's supposed to be impact before they enter water. I also don't understand Yuan Xing's sudden motivation to investigate her parents death. How did Gao Lin&co discover that Cheng Cheng's DNA was wrong and why the hell did Gao Lin meet up with Cheng Dawei? Faulty logic and loose ends, if they weren't serious about this mystery drama they should have just skipped the "attempted murder in kairoutei" and scrapped the last 4 episodes🤦
Zhao Liying's performance doesn't seem to be on par with the rest of the cast. Sometimes her character's emotions are less evident than her unintentional stuttering and mental struggle with her lines. Other times her reactions to certain scenarios are out of place. She's still very watchable but I guess I expected a certain energy from this rural female character, for now she doesn't fit into this setting.
I hope they aren't too literal with the adaptation or it could turn into a joke really fast. Animes are definitely more difficult to adapt than books or Manhuas.
call me weird but I actually added this drama in my ptw solely bcz of the earlier poster 😂 Idk why poster matters…
Lol, I judge dramas mostly by the posters and cut scenes I don't read reviews or synopsis coz of spoilers. And if this drama didn't have Yang Mi, with this new poster I'd have scrolled right past.
