in book previous life, if Qiao Man's sister married Wei Shao she would be extremely disadvantaged and died early, leading to Lady Yu , being able to nab Wei Shao as husband because they had childhood ties and he has attachment issues for her. But in the book Qiao Man became the blockade and took the empress fate because she had all the prior knowledge from previous life to "help" and preempt some of the situations to make it favourable for herself. She made Wei Shao see "the ugliness" of Lady Yu so he made her truly ugly by cutting off her nose so she had to wear a mask and she then went to latch onto another older male king, which Wei Shao later conquered.

i like cultivation stories so i have a bit of hope for YY's drama since it's by the Director YY, I dunno much about XZ drama but yes you're right, in the end no matter how big the traffic is or how grand the costume and setting or how much budget is thrown in , if the script sucks there's no saving it. We already see this with the fox matchmaker series

in the book, the mom and cousin gave him an aphrodisiac so that she could do the deed with him and be made a concubine. He rejected her and threw her out but he was suffering all night with cold baths and it became to unbearable so ManMan spent the night with him with her hand helping him. So that's how the ended up "consummating"

same!!! i just finished and even with the ending the way it is, the story is great and everything made sense and it was just beautifully written. For this drama, although different from the book, it was a really great adapatation

so when I was reading this I was wondering why Seven took this drama as it seemed similar to Sword and Brocade - her entering into ML's harem life. Later as I get towards the end of the book and thought more about it, it is rather profound and hoping that script can really show FL's resilience and keeping her core ideals even when everyone always resorts to ruthless schemes for selfish benefits, being kind and compassionate is HARD as the author puts it. Perhaps this is why Seven took this script, I can also see the type of character settings that she cares about like in Brocade Odyssey - also with the same vein of going against the current of injustice, but she was never outright vengeful to correct the wrongs, she just outsmarts them. So I'm wondering whether they can use all the plots in the book for the drama. Beautiful story.

prolly cos he's younger in this one? I mean this technically could have released in 2023 before In Blossom, Kill Me Love Me and A Moment But Forever, but man I'm just so happy to have all these treats to stare at my costume god
