Ok I am in the first episode and around 3:49 San is being chased and he keeps his hand on a wall of the house and it immediately shakes - and it becomes clearly evident that its a setup for the show. I don't know how many more observations are coming my way.
Im confused, in the 1st ep the ML was a in the back seat being driven by a driver so how did he regain consciousness…
Because the driver shifted the ML on the driver seat so that it appeared as if the ML was driving the seat and caused the accident. The driver ran away.
I don't get the hate comments at all. I have seen worse dramas in my life and this isn't one of them. The premise is unique and the acting of the the cast were good. I don't liked the acting of the villain though because he didn't look much dangerous and he only had one expression on his face. For me, the pacing was good. Though I agree that there were many loopholes in the plot and the writing got worse in the end. Out of all the characters, my favorites were Ji Hoon, Dong Shik's kid and Professor Hwang's assistant. Dong Chan's ex was a semi-villain however I liked her because her feelings were valid and she had guilty conscience. Also, the side characters were more or less ignored towards the last episode. I daresay the drama deserves to be watched at least one time. I am not sure if its re-watchable. Overall: 8/10.
My Stand-In is a BL with an unique and never-seen-before plot. I always wondered how the lives of stuntmen be like and this show gave me a sneak peek into their lives and the behind-the-scenes of filming movies. Kudos to all the stand-ins and stuntmen who are acting risky scenes on behalf of the artists. The cinematography and storytelling was great...unlike others the timelines didn't confuse me. Most importantly, the camera shots and the smooth transitions between the main lead Joe and the other Joe was so good. UpPoom's chemistry was insane and I wish they both pair again. Its been a long time since I saw Inntouch after My Engineer. Character-wise I loved P'Wut and Joe's mom, Ing. Loved their bonds with Joe. A few things bothered me though, where is Ing's son Joe's soul? The old Joe thinks the grim reaper must have taken him by mistake but that's the end of it and no where else it was discussed. I am used to shows with soul-swapping themes ignoring how the souls were swapped but at least what happened to the other Joe's soul should have been addressed. Another thing is the redemption arc for Tong. Given the crimes he did, he should be fined and sent to prison. But a simple sorry and clearing the mess he created because everyone's concerned about the unborn child...that's crazy. And in my opinion, Ming is still irredeemable. I don't know why, but even after he apologized and everything he did, I still couldn't forgive him...like I felt he'll flip anytime. I would have liked if Joe acted in a film that had no connections with Ming or his family, that way he truly would have achieved everything by his own efforts. One more thing that looked awkward to me - before Ming's brother Mick was introduced I thought he was an assistant to that Master - there were two scenes where Mick shouted at Ming for barging in to meet the Master but it turns out he was not the Master's assistant. So, what's the point? I also didn't like the sudden pairing of secretary and Mick and Sol and the makeup artist. Till the 11th episode, there were hardly any interaction for a romantic angle between them and then its hinted in the final episode. Overall: 8/10. For the efforts.
Ok, I can't believe I am saying this. But, a big company like iQiyi overlooking a very visible flaw....in episode 4, when Joe thinks of deleting Ming's contact number in his phone it says, 'Delete contract'. Seriously? How come this went unnoticed?
I think I can summarize the entire saga of My Beautiful Man in two sentences: If someone as beautiful as Kiyoi would ever fall in love with me, I would faint. If someone would love me as Hira did, I would die.
I think this series deserves more recognition. I loved both the main characters and understood both of their perceptions at life. Reb was a hopeless romantic, he was inexperienced in love so he believed the fairy tales and happy endings, like in the movies. He imagined love to be magical and pearls and rainbows. He was optimistic about everything. On the other hand, JM was exactly opposite. He was a lifeless soul with no colors. After the heartbreak, he isolated himself from people and finds peace in solitude. He doesn't want anyone to invade his personal space because he doesn't want to get hurt one more time. But, I think Reb and JM deserved each other to bring out a perfect balance. Reb needed a reality check that love isn't always a smooth ride and JM wanted someone to heal his heart. The series was scripted very well with meaningful conversations. Both the actors did a great job as the main characters. Stuck On You is on YouTube so do give it a try. P.S: I don't know why but the actor Yves Flores in some camera angles looks like a younger sibling to Thai actor Yoon of Unforgetten Night. My thoughts.
