For me, the drama was just okay. Initially, I liked Luna when she was so indulged in her happy crush, her character was relatable. But, after few episodes later, she seemed to be too whiny. She is forever talking about her own life with her close friends. That's why she didn't notice what happened to Ke. Though it was emphasized in one episode that Kalix and Luna promise to talk it out and clear any misunderstandings, Luna still walks away from the problem. I don't blame Kalix, he was ready to clear the air with Luna, but Luna didn't give him the chance. Luna was selfish imo, she was neck-deep in her own life to check upon Ke or Kalix, and nor did she realize that Sevi had feelings for her. The whole time Kalix was the one who keeps apologizing when it wasn't his fault. And he suffered a lot too, silently. I only liked two things about the show: Sevi was the green flag we all need in life, his love was unrequited but he always wanted Luna to be happy and was never in the way of Luna and Kalix. And the friends of Luna were all so supportive, I don't know if I could handle someone like Luna as a friend. One thing felt weird was though Luna interacted in Tagalog, Kalix always interacted in English. I have seen many Pinoy shows but this is the first time I see a person constantly talking only in English. Don't y'all feel annoyed when you speak to a person in one language while that person communicates to you in other language? But, then I found out that Marco, the actor playing Kalix is actually Italian. It would have been nice if another actor who knew Tagalog played as Kalix. Overall: 7.5/10.
I am in first episode, and the embarrassment I felt when Vee walked in Janus's room....OH GOD.... Okay, done with the series just now. It wasn't good but it wasn't awful either. Much better than Check Out in my opinion. Yeah, but I did watch this on 1.5x speed after episode 5. More than the main couple, I was interested in the two side couples, especially Janus and Bomb. I really want to know the backstory of they became a couple, considering the fact that Bomb was Janus's best friend and had a crush on Venus. I want to know how Janus won Bomb's heart. But I don't think we are getting a spinoff of them. And I loved the fact that Janus randomly sang a couple of lines of Moonlight Chicken OST in the last episode. Anyways, I don't see a need for the twins who came out of nowhere during climax. They didn't bother to show Bomb's mom but were keen to show two random strangers. Other than that, the acting wasn't great, especially the main leads need to scale up their acting....more acting workshops maybe. The only good thing about the show - Tod is an incredible kisser.
I think the whole saga of 12-episode Check Out series shouldn't have existed. The first pilot episode and this exclusive episode was sufficient. Guess all Boat can do is keep collecting buttons in this lifetime. Poor boy! BTW, can someone let me know what's the song at 43:51? Thanks in advance.
Now I get the hate comments. This is the first time I skipped so much content while watching a show. The funniest part is even with all that jumping around the scenes I was still able to piece the story together. The conversations among the cast were bland and not meaningful at all. And I guess the writers made the workplace of the main leads a production house so that they can use it as an way to casually show the sponsored products.
Daonuea who used to be a sensible person in the pilot episode turned into a childish, whiny cry-baby. Nine was complicating his life with all the wrong decisions. I thought I had seen enough of bitchy gfs but then Praew comes along and snatches away the most bitchy gf and friend in the BL universe. While Candy tries to help her, all Praew does is doubt her, humiliate her and she even slapped Candy. And still Candy goes around asking sorry to Praew.
What annoyed me the most is Tee and Daonuea broke up because Tee was seeing two people at the same time, which Daonuea regarded as cheating. But, after Nine returned and Tee and Daonuea had just rekindled their relationship, Daonuea and Nine got intimate - and Daonuea didn't feel guilty about what he had done. Imo, he has no rights to call Tee as a cheater in the first place - because it was never mentioned Tee was sleeping with someone else other than Daonuea. Tee had to figure out about Nine and Daonuea all by himself.
And then we have the side couple TeeIce. Tee started appearing from episode 5 onwards and only from 9th episode did Tee and Ice have longer interactions. I was interested in their story more than the main couple.
One good thing about the series is the music and the song choices, though the editing of the songs were weird.
Overall, it wasn't worth my time but I have taken an oath as a BL fujoshi that I must watch as many BLs as I can...so I gave this a go. If you are up for a challenge to test your patience, you can watch this. I watched this in 1.5x. Hehe!!!
Very good question. I don't understand it. Who creates the pages?
I think the admin or the contributors create the pages. I have no idea. The thing is the series that are cancelled or not yet aired have pages in MDL, meanwhile a show currently airing doesn't have a page.
I am pretty sure Check Out initially was planned as a promotional movie for that resort, but 9Naa Production decided to develop the movie into series since Chahub and Best's chemistry worked here. The only thing I hated in this special episode is that resort worker - so annoying and the way she talks...ugh! I have heard the sequel series was a huge disappointment for fans, so I am heading to 'check out' the Check Out series now.
First of all, I am here because my feeds were filled the clip of Rowoon flipping his hair so I decided to check this out. So, yes, I watched this mainly for Rowoon...who could ignore that handsome face? But, what's with the title? What the FL will never know? 'The webtoon title 'Senior, Don't Put On That Lipstick' sounds more logical. And the plot description isn't exactly right - Song Ah hardly emphasized she won't date younger men and also she only once mentioned to build a personal brand - the story is not based on her own brand. And Song Ah and Chae Seung's age difference was just one year - that's not much too complain.
The whole drama was a big promotional ad for KLAR. I agree that the leads work there but the name KLAR was emphasized so much. If you want a peak in the cosmetics industry, you can watch this show.
By the time I reached episode 9, I felt bored with the main couple. Their story was predictable. I was more invested in the relationship between Jae Woon and Ji Seung. Also, I was curious to know what's going on between Yun Seung and the chef. My most loved character was Yun Seung's kid - she is so wise for her age and is literally a love coach.
Though Hyo Joo was annoying, I didn't hate her as much I did with clinging gfs from other kdramas. I loved Jae Woon though because he really considered Jae Shin as a friend. While Jae Shin was selfish, I understand his situation and I also feel like he was more cheerful with Song Ah - his love for her was true.
My gaydar was accurate right from the beginning of the show. What annoyed me was the unnecessary addition of love between chef and Woo Hyeon. No, don't get me wrong. There are mainstream Korean BLs with happy endings. Then why add gay characters and give them sad endings in mainstream K-dramas? If you really want to give a sad ending, just don't even introduce such characters in K-dramas. It seems conflicting, you know what I mean - like they are trying to popularize the drama by putting gay characters so that BL fans can watch the drama too. I want gay side couples in kdramas to have a happy ending.
The last few episodes were so predictable. I skipped many scenes. A good one-time watch if you like Rowoon. Overall: 7.5/10.
I am watching the first episode and arrived at the car scene of Mai and Jade. Jade is changing the outfits to show that Mai drives Jade to his home everyday. But the car is stationary - like you can really see through the window that the car is not moving. But Mai is steering the wheel and applying brakes....I FOUND IT SO HILARIOUS. LMAO! Here comes the second funny scene: in ep 5, the editing is so poor with the pink plants scene. The window reflection clearly shows that those plants aren't pink. LOL! Overall, it wasn't that bad. Yeah, but the first few episodes Jade seems to be an annoying character. In BF, he wasn't like that. Here, he seems to be unbearably trying-to-be-funny and that ruins everything. And if we talk about romance, I thought a Thai BL would have a sailing ship by the end of ep 4(if its just made up of 8 episodes in total), but both main couple and side couple get together only in 7th ep. If there's one thing I liked - TUTOR SEEMS TO BE A GREAT KISSER! Hoping The Battle of Writers turns out good since it had a promising trailer! BTW those searching for the song of MaiJade's NC scene - the one with roses, here you go: Geminii - Blame Game(sped-up version)
