The father might have been a cousin versus sibling. A son of the previous emperor? This current drama emperor is actually likeable and congenial, for once. LOL I hope he stays the same to the end. He Zhong Hua has been one of the busiest character actors. His resume is very long.

MLs with white hair have been attractive lately. I recall Cheng Yi in The Journey of Legend and Vendetta of An, and Wang Xing Yue in Unveil: Jadewind.

I was suspicious of him from the beginning, but that might be his flair... looking intimidating and haughty. After all, he is the right-hand man of Emperor. He might be trying to take down the nobles, and Princess Li's investigation may be the only way to trap them.

After I watch the daily episodes, I come to MDL, and read the daily comments. I enjoy reading the interchange, feedback and POV.

Li Pei Yi and Xiao Huai Jin have excellent teamwork. It's almost as if they have ESP skills.

I was hoping they would be freed in episode 6, but I am thinking it will happen in episode 7.

I thought that was a unique interrogation. It was a good way to clean up the Poop Collector. I don't know the correct classification of his trade. It would convince him to talk, eventually. No one had respected him enough to give him a hot bath.

I do not recall a drama plot where the palace maids were terminated en masse. It is logical that they would become easy prey for brothels, under the guise of embroidery servants.

I meant episode 6. It went so quickly. Immortal Master was on point. I am going to rewatch it.

He is one of the best character actors, and he has instant recognition. I would love to see him play an emperor.

It went quickly. Ep 1 did not drag. I understand your POV. I was surprised when I glanced at the runtime. I have trouble sitting through a Kdrama episode that is one hour long.

I love episode 6 (correction). It ended too soon.

So many deaths in only four episodes! They are competing with Vendetta of An where they were dropping like flies in every episodes.

Cui Man Shu was narcissistic, overbearing and malicious. She wasn't even an entitled princess. LOL I could not wait to see the fatal stab. Luckily for us, she was gone in a few episodes.

Episode 1 is a very good entrance into the plot. It was well constructed with the pacing, acting, writing, directing, and set design. I haven't evaluated the costumes yet. I like Bai Lu in this role. Her action stunts are impressive. Wang Xing Yue commands with his stature, even though Xiao Huai Jin is second to Li Pei Yi. I hope he surprises us later with some skillsets. I recognized Li Xin Ze (...Lin Ning), under his helmet in the dark setting.

I watched two costume dramas daily, and the ML and the plot began to overlap in my brain. LOL You deserve a medal.
