The last 3 episode was pointless, should of wrap it up instead of dragging it on. Overall this was a great watch.…
If there were 40 episodes in the planning stage, you can wonder what they removed from the production line. We didn't need to revist the Academy or see the old flashbacks.
I'm sorry, wtf did they do to Chu Zhao in the last few episodes? Was he like this... in the novel too?
Bad enough, he kept the caramel candy stick in a box. It was melting away. He is lucky the ants never broke into the box. He should have been able to laminate it, to preserve it.
She was OK. I didn't even memorize her name or her role. They would refer to TaoTao, and I couldn't remember who…
She ran away because of a arranged marriage to Cheng. She began collaborating with him on medical cases, and they grew on each other? Is that her story? πππ
I'm still at episode 28. I assumed something was going to happen to Yan He because they kept mentioning his pregnant…
Yes! I hope he gets a promotion to Army Liaison Officer, and gets a girlfriend. He can go between Fuyue and Xiao armies. He also does Lantern festivals and recognisance. I was expecting to see a fireworks display. LOL
I totally agree with you in this sentiment cause like what kind of leader gets dragged by the nose by one simple…
My rating was 8.0 prior to today. I would raise it to 8.3 because the screenwriters went to the effort of staging a wedding finale. BGM was good, but they kept playing the same song by a female singer in many scenes. The song is pretty, btw.
I just finished the drama. Despite the warnings below about the final few episodes, I kept going and am glad it ended on a high note.
Three flaws in the final two or three episodes:
1. I wish Yan He had lived. I did not see the necessity to kill him off. Even though he was not a priority supporting character, he was still functioning as a Wei General. Screenwriters should be demoted to copywriter.
2. Paranoid Emperor is not a strong leader, and Wutuo King and his Prince Brother knew it. Emperor separated the mightiest military force in the battle to end all wars. A pathetic joke of a ruler! No wonder Xu Jing Fu ran circles around him, and he, Emperor, was clueless for years. I apologize to the MDL family for repeating myself. The Empress must have whipped him, to issue the royal edict for He Yan and Xiao Jue to marry.
3. Duplicitous Delulu of the Month Award goes to Chu Zhao, who received so many promotions for minimal accomplishments. He was fast tracking like falling rain. His demotion and employment termination are well deserved. He can paint portraits for resale in the borderlands.
I don't know if I have enough recollection on the episodes, to write a review. I will have to think about it.
The lead couple may be my favorite couple of 2025. They possessed minor flaws that are masked by their integrity and military skills. Thank God, the screenwriters and directors did not kill off the four Yezhou Garrison Rookies/Nine Battalion Soldiers, which many C-dramas do customarily.
I am in the middle of ep 34, but I wanted to say that the two Xiao couples, Xiao Jue & He Yan and Xiao Jing & his wife, are the two most beautful drama family couples.
I am so glad that Chu Zhao and his maid assistant finally put the entitled princess Pingting in her place.
Emperor is a spineless ingrate, listening to Chu Zhao criticize the He-Zhao relationship. No wonder Xu Jingfu had run circles around him for years.
