Expressed it till the end - couldnt wait the whole weekend. Where should I start?
The ending wasn't satisfying. I hate open endings like that.
Xiaozhou really irritated me right till the end. He is like a stalker *rolls my eyes* When you just witness the calm headed street smart cool supermum lose her sh*t when Daer was found after he ran away and what does he do when he was rejected the next day ? Xiaozhou goes and coerced Daer to approve their love relationship to win her over - doing exactly what she hated using her son's love for his mum as a weapon. That's some immature, cant read the room, still not understanding ManLi nor thinking of ManLi but only thinking of himself mentality. so selfish. They are not right for each other. He is forever the one she has to rescue. She already has a son , she doesnt need another child nor another burden. Right till the ending scene still waiting, stalking , didnt even ask her that he joined her to work at Blue Ocean. So annoying. I prefer ManLi with Mr Li. He is rough round the edges , clearly loved his late wife and daughter but a capable businessman. They would make a power couple and he would definitely appreciate her wit, tenacity and capableness. Her high EQ would be an asset to him just like his ex wife was. Her daughter clearly approves and encouraged him. I was hoping after some years ManLi getting back on her feet, they would be together but we get this ending.
Tang Ling - so satisfying that she was humiliated by the CEO publicly. Karma is a b*tch but I didnt get showdown or payday for what she did to ManLi - repeatedly destroyed ManLi's career. The knot wasnt tied & unfinished and left me only wanting...
As for the recycling aunty , im still upset at xiaozhou, it was all his fault. He ruined her daughter's life and her biggest worry came true which is that the son in law gets half of the marital inheritance. I dont know how Man Li can be so saintly , I would have ended all ties with Xiaozhou right there and then. im still bitter about this.
Rant over
The positives- absolutely adore ManLi, wish her vlogs were real lol I love the stories of ordinary people and how insurance done right can be materially and even emotionally provide the security that can cater to individual needs. The scriptwriter and story telling weaved it well throughout the show. Just wish they never introduced the love part and if they did , did it better for ManLi- she deserves the best partner , a good husband who loves and supports her. A husband that appreciates all her qualities which are abundant and not some puppydog weasel like Xiaozhou. Surprisingly love the catchy intro song just the right tone to encapsulate ManLi's go getting character. All the cast was superb. Ex husband got what he deserved and his development arc was satisfying to see. Confessing his regret must have been hard but how Manli handled it was top class. The ex finally grown up was good to see. Lisu however , I kind of wish there was some comeuppance that made Xiaozhou father's inheritance property or business forfeited to Xiaozhou in tact not in flames - that would have been a nice karma but this Xiaozhou Lisu knot wasn't nicely tied up as well as I would like. I feel they could have done better. I would have given this a solid score if not for all the negatives of this drama. Such wasted potential
So why is Man Li's old boss offering her a job , but asking her to stay away from selling insurance? 🤔
Because her old boss is not asking her to sell insurance but to handle market promotion and outreach activities for their new elderly care insurance division. That does not require a insurance license and this job would be a salaried not commissionable position.
Xiaozhou is so greedy and naive. Looking down on recycling aunty. Manli always has to bail out his BS. I know he trying to land the deal or Manli loses her job but he didnt ask her what she wanted. Staying together, Working together, he was the one who wanted it. Manli is the only character in the show im rooting for. Been waiting for Xiao Zhou to redeem himself but i dislike his character. So childish and stubborn. I dont see him being Manli's good luck rather a torn on her side.
He did say that watch again he said that the writer of light blue book (JY) was very ambitious it starts at 32:50…
Thank you heyppi I went back to replay and you are right. i think i missed it because I didnt realise when he said sky blue book actually referred to JeYeon. There are 2 blue books i think so it didnt click at first. This makes it even more bizarre that he gets negativity for it. He didnt choose Jeyeon's book, it was JeYeon who chose his book. I dont understand why he is getting flak for that. WooJae wasnt talking bad about Jeyeon but that his impression of the sky blue book is that the owner is ambitious (i guess he wasnt looking for a life partner with this trait.) Nothing wrong with that at all. This convoluted hate on him is really baffling. I am actually really intrigued by Woojae & Jiwon. I loved that they really got into the contract. I'm attracted to WooJae's sincerity. Being honest about being pragmatic, frugal is stepping up and bravely showing his true self flaws & all to a new girl he is trying to get to know. I like that he explained his past dates so Jiwon wouldnt misunderstand him. Why he is interested in her, when he was interested in her. Love it so we dont have to guess so she wouldnt have to guess, just lay it out there with sincerity. Afterall the host introduced heart pairing as a step up to heart signal where people are looking for marriage material. One of my fav part of their date is them both sitting on the floor together in the living room and he admitted that he didnt want to come across as fickle. Love both their sincerity. Also when he teased whether they should link hands before stepping in to the house ( thank you Jimin) Jiwon's head leaned over WooJae - ahhh so sweet when WJ : just say we did it, *her head to his shoulder JW : ok I wont make excuses . Ahhhh so sweet! I already liked Jiwon so im just glad both seem to be having a good time with this contract date. Cant wait to see their floral date together. i hope to hear of JiWon's feelings/impression about WooJae. I love that they are both so into their contract. the part that they were cooking sujebi together - WJ : Lets go see flowers tomorrow JW: I need to get married. WJ : Are you ready ? JW : This is a bridal lesson WJ : Something like that ... ah im dying of sweetness . i do see the chemistry. love happy couples. WJ feeding JW to test the food too. Cant help it, rewatching it was worth it lol
WooJae saying JeYeon is ambitious? WooJae talking about cars ? WooJae pretentious? Are we are watching same show? I'm watching on VIKI which has top notch credible subs. Are you guys lost in translations? The hate on WooJae is unreal and unjustified.
Episode 24 onwards too triggering for me. Pace is also a little slow for me. Storyline didnt really have me hooked. Otherwise everything else was good. Dont think ill continue till the end though
The soon-to-be ex-husband is proving yet again that he is nothing without Man-Li. Without her he's so easily used…
Definitely Agree! I feel Man Li is better off without him. I hope they don't get back together. He is so needy & loser of a husband. she deserves better.
My heart broke when Ji Won did not receive a text from Changhwan. She didnt care about the age and she wrote the most moving text to him - to make her kimchi soup again and again. I couldnt bear it seeing her heart broken not getting his text. Although I understand & sympathize Changhwan dilemma on their 15 years age difference as its quite a significant gap but just so sad seeing that Jiwon told Dr CH that age doesnt matter, that she does want to get married even at her age. They seem so suited for each other when even Changhwan mention about how he envisioned being Cha Seong Won - a Family guy who dotes on her daughter making her baby good from stratch. He definitely wants to get married, aspires to be a good father & husband. Its just so sad that JiWon & Changhwan couldnt overcome the age gap. I really do need to blame this on the production team, what were they thinking! They even chose each other's books. I guess its comforting & courageous for them to both move on. i would hate to see either one stuck in this dilemma.
I think I understand now Jimin's appeal, especially the last scene with Jeyeon asking her to be his contract date, a conventional handsome character straight out of a Kdrama. I think that is why Jimin doesn't appeal to me at all because im not watching a kdrama but a variety show where ordinary people are looking for love. I think that's why I find WooJae so interesting. I love that he is no cookie cutter male lead. He is an artist that has a budget when buying a car, prefers nature rather than the concrete jungle, yearns for a peaceful life rather than luxury or to make lots of money. Completely opposite to Jimin. I love that he is not the normal great catch on paper and that he sincerely expressed it in his book for all to see. Afterall Who am I to judge that an introverted artist cannot deserve a successful lawyer as his partner? Even if he is not the best flirt or know the best lines to say, with his peppered awkward silences that can be seen as insecurities, isnt it more endearing and relatable ? It's just refreshing and rare to see. I love that regardless of his insecurities he stepped up & took initiative to take her to work & back. Afterall she picked his book, why would anyone doubt that he is genuinely interested in her. It just doesnt make sense at all how one can conjure up that WooJae is interested in Jeyeon because Jimin is interested in her. So left field. WooJae keeps growing on me & so does Jeyeon because knowing he is such a person from his book, she still chose him. I feel intrigued by their individual personalities & their motivations. Whether they are ultimately together or not , I feel invested in their happiness. As for Jiwon, WooJae was asked by his roommate CH about Jiwon that he only had half an hour with her, other than Jeyeon, had not spent time with any other girls. So why wouldnt he pick Jiwon if he could pick 2 people to get the opportunity to know better. I think it would interesting to see WooJae & JiWon. I cant wait what episode 7 will bring.
can someone please explain why the t-shirt was so bad? the subtitles says something to do with The Last. But that doesn't sound all that bad . lost in translation?
