Ya so agree mountain spirit really is like a parent! A parent who gives tough love like that damn bloody red string hahahaha. Love our musings. Thank you YOU.
Oh my Gawd, I so agree! I had to reply.. As I said before sometimes I feel like I'm watching a different drama…
I have not read the webtoon and I do not want to pay for the restricted stuff, I can only do a review of the story told by the drama. Might be worth exploring, I suppose as I already comment on the later episodes after I watched them 😅

I love that there so much to ponder on with your thoughtful perspective.I like the bit about being bitter. I have had my share of cynicism. I also am a big fan of "no man is an island" therefore I can relate to bitter experiences when there is no support. That is also why I appreciated Mountain Spirit's hint : "Some take off their jackets when the wind is strong. While some take off their jackets while the sun shines brightly "Different people will react to a situation differently. I see The jacket representing their comfort zone and the strong wind, bright sunshine representing the situation. Given the comparison between Hye Sun and Fox Woo Yeo. When you are ready to come out of your comfort zone and take risk you are ready to be human. So we see the opposite contrast to Fox Woo Yeo as his deep loss for his first love made him shut off all human experiences, so unlike Hye Sun who did the opposite. As a consequence Fox Woo Yeo chose not to feel human emotions anymore - like you said lived in a shell to protect his own self. That is why I see their love/hate relationship well thought out. Like the writers really understood not just each character but the relationship between them as well. I hope I'm right because that would mean Happiness will move him to get out of his comfort zone, therefore take risk that would make him ready to be human. We have seen time and time again everytime sadness, loss, pain is felt by woo yeo he builds walls again. Sorry your writing inspired me but I think it went off tangent slightly haha I hope you got my point on this. HahaTo be honest, I was struggling composing this post. I wasn't particularly able to discern between maturity vs inexperience. Is Fox Woo Yeo inexperienced or immature? I'm not sure if I have fully explored the differences in the word well but I felt maturity is derived from experiences. Not vice-versa. Or is it chicken and egg analogy? I don't know. So I have considered and can empathize that it could well be inexperienced rather than maturity in his character.

I have not read the webtoon and the links I was given I had trouble opening them. I also heard that it's not completely translated to English, is that true?

Good advice! Thank you! I shall keep it in mind.I've always been the kind to approach it closest to my heart. So even if they don't get it, I have tried and yet be true to myself. Maybe that is why I heart Lee Dam! Maybe that is the wrong approach. I don't know. I will keep an open heart and stay close to people who feel like sunshine. Like you. Thank you for taking the time to show me a different way.
"We mature with the damage, not with the years" I came across this quote and I think it is timely. Some viewers find the fox as immature. Therefore Jang Ki Yong nailed his character. Because this 999 year old fox is on a journey, first to want to be human and then to find out what it takes to be human, going through a myriad of experiences to be human. As a centuries lived fox, who has been a loner, who shut himself from ever having human relationships after he lost his first love, with only 2 contacts on his phone, hilariously not even Hye Sun is on his contacts. He is bound to make mistakes on his journey to being human. These damages are what will give him experiences that will develop his maturity. Even Dam is more matured than him in many instances in the drama. In a nutshell, maturity is not based on how many years you have lived but by the mistakes and damage that changes you, forces you to grow. I've learn something from this quote. Maybe that is why I find Fox's journey to humanity so meaningful. It opens my mind and my heart for things I have long forgotten, set aside or taken for granted.

That is true to each their own. That is why not me. 🤣😂 Too much of a Travesty for me to keep mum😁To misunderstand such a beautiful love story ? Nah ah. It's one thing to have an opinion. Quite another when that opinion has no basis to the drama. I will reply if I feel they might have missed something. At the end of the day, they can take it however they like, they can deflect by turning on me rather than the substance of my reply. At least I have said my peace. This drama has thought me it is remarkable to be human with human emotions. I am happy to be alive in this fragile world and I am happy that unlike an animal, I am able to express myself.
This drama started off really unique and funny so I binged the first few episodes all excited and eager to see…
This is a fantasy romcom. It's weird that you recommend Goblin yet the age thing is more questionable with Goblin. I see some double standards. Gong Yoo is 12 years older than Go-Eun. In fact today is Gong Yoo's birthday. Jang Ki Yong is only 2 years apart from Hyeri in their late 20s. Eun Tak was still in High School, 19 years old I think. Dam is in university in her 20s. I don't understand this age thing. Another double standards is Hye Sun and Jae Jin, I don't see anybody questioning their 700 years age gap. Creepy Hye Sun, or creepy Jae Jin. Fox Woo Yeo became replacement professor because Hye Sun told him she cried. I'm going to regurgitate: In ep 7, when Fox decided to take back his red marble and spare the love of his life, anymore pain or danger, eventhough receiving her energy would enable him to be human. And this is just a day before being shown that he would turn to an evil maegu if he doesn't turn human when he reaches 1000 years old. For the first time in his centuries lived life, who can use magic to solve almost anything, who can easily accumulate wealth, who never ages, forever tall and handsome. But Fox Woo Yeo's only wish when he took her on his first trip was to make a wish for her. You would think he would wish that he be made human. But he experienced the fact that he was so close to losing the love of his life that selflessly he put Dam above all else, even his own existence. His wish for her is significant because he said "You have a beautiful smile, so I wish you would get to smile often. You can make your dreams come true, so I wished you wouldn't give up on what you liked. And I wished you wouldn't get hurt by others." So hell ya seeing the love of your life cry in university the next day is too painful for him. I'm all for replacement professor to make his wish for her come true knowing he erased any memory of him. This is important he did not know she remembered everything and how sweet it is that the misunderstandings, her broken heart was short lived.
I’m all for light hearted misunderstandings In k dramas but on episode 5 where she says she thinks she in love…
This is a fantasy Romcom. About a Fox's journey to becoming human. At the heart of this drama, is the love story between a love of a human for a fox and a fox for a human. A Fox who has been a loner, who shut himself from human relationships, who has only 2 contacts in his phone and zero pictures, who hilariously doesn't even have Hye Sun on his contacts - misunderstands the scrambled eggs. It's not beyond reason for someone who has never been in love before or lived with a human before. Even normal humans commonly misunderstand or picks up the wrong signal, let alone a fox who is inexperienced with human relationships and feelings.
I do not dislike the MC's but I agree that they do not appear to suit. I think it is bcoz of the ML - something…
Crash landing, healer and MRIAG are all completely different dramas. For starters, Woo Yeo isn't even a human, while crash landing and healer are not fantasy and MLs are human. Woo Yeo is a 999 year old gumiho. Fox Woo Yeo gets energy from humans by transferring the beads and also in skinship. Also this energy once accumulated enough turns him human ( this is what both Hye Sun and Fox Woo Yeo always thought ) However this is detrimental to the human as it can be fatal. The humane fox cannot touch without feeling guilty for harming the human who is giving him energy. As far as I see, your premise of how you feel ML should be is, for want of a better word, is mute.
I like them individually, but not that much as a couple. Also, the fact that she keeps calling him Sir bothers…
Let me try to explain for those who did not catch the significance of calling him Eoreushin.
1. In ep 2, when Fox Woo Yeo said that it was the first time that he saw Dam smile. That was also the first time she called him Eoreushin in the basement. This is significant because a fox does not possess human feelings. A smile does not mean anything to a fox. But Fox Woo Yeo he remembered it and cherished it. That also significantly showed his first glimpse of his humanity.
2. In ep 7, when Fox decided to take back his red marble and spare the love of his life, anymore pain or danger, eventhough receiving her energy would enable him to be human. And this is just a day before being shown that he would turn to an evil maegu if he doesn't turn human when he reaches 1000 years old. For the first time in his centuries lived life, who can use magic to solve almost anything, who can easily accumulate wealth, who never ages, forever tall and handsome. But Fox Woo Yeo's only wish when he took her on his first trip was to wish for her. You would think he would wish that he be made human. But he experienced the fact that he was so close to losing the love of his life that selflessly he put Dam above all else even his own existence. His wish for her is significant because of the first line he said "You have a beautiful smile, so I wish you would get to smile often. You can make your dreams come true, so I wished you wouldn't give up on what you liked. And I wished you wouldn't get hurt by others."
3. Dam's Smile is very important - sort of their theme of their love. It has been referenced many times - during the archery scene, where he told her not to smile to Sun Woo as she has a beautiful smile. Also when he hilarious misunderstood when Soo Kyung asked about his favourite and he said it was Dam's Smile. "Eoreushin" has a special place in Fox Woo Yeo's journey to being human and to their love story.
4. In ep 9, the most important and significant reason. That "Eoreushin" is so special to Fox Woo Yeo and Dam. The greatest clue and personally for me - the most beautiful encapsulation of their love story. A love story between a love of a fox to a human against his nature, against time, against destiny and against all odds. This clue is found where Dam confessed her true feelings to Fox Woo Yeo. We get to see as viewers Fox Woo Yeo's internal dialog montage : " A reckless and bold confession, now that I think of it. She has always been like this. She never hesitates and she is daring. Living a 1000 years, I have seen, heard & touched many things but I've never FELT anything. Just like sceneries out of a window, everything in my life passed by so fast and hazily. And I meet her and for the first time, I felt like I fell from the clouds and bumped into reality - A SIGNIFICANT BEING TO SOMEONE (this is where the montage shows her decision to call him Eoreushin) I was no longer a dream that vanishes after night. I BECAME PART OF SOMEONE'S EVERYDAY LIFE. I HAD SOMEONE TO WAIT FOR SO TIME STOPPED PASSING BY MEANINGLESSLY. What has possibly made this girl so bold, clumsy and true to herself. I found it silly yet at the same time very lovely"
5. Lets think in human standards, Eoreushin was used before they had any feelings of love for each other. They continued to use it because it became a term of endearment and reverence. They respect each other and this is the name they used when they first met. Like a pet name. I see nothing wrong with it and everything special about it. Especially with the significance to the story of a love between a human to a fox and a fox to a human. One would think that to turn him human , he has to love someone. But no, it is not. Not for this beautiful love story! It is because this animal was treated like a human and that he was treated as someone significant to someone else's life. Not the love he gives but the human love and affection he received. That is the first time he had human feelings.Oh how glorious is that! We usually emphasize how deep someone's love is for another but we usually don't recognize that to be human is to be loved like a human. It has made me realise how beautiful humanity is. How beautiful it is to receive love.
Let's do so, shall we! You have me on your team, always! ^^
Hi Director Nam Seong-Woo, Thank you for giving viewers like myself weeks of laughter, tears, smiles and plenty of swooning watching My Roommate is a Gumiho.
We do not want to see this drama end. Many of my friends would like to request 20 episodes. Instead of 16. 🤣 Or at least a special episode ? A girl can dream right? We know it is a long shot but we really love this drama. And it would mean the world to us to have extra episodes.
I love it. The sequence is better, makes more sense. There's just one part I'm confused or maybe I missed it (have…
Ya, I noticed prof seo incident was not fully resolved in respect to Fox's humanity. Also, Fox failed Hye Sun's test. Not sure if they intend to explore this in last 2 episodes.I love that you think the cast loved their respective characters. It shows how close to this piece of work is to them. I, too am looking forward to the next two episode yet already dreading the end of a beloved drama. I'm so attached to it already that I know it will be difficult to move on.

Interesting. Maybe they switch the emotions around or maybe it's all of it that we will see next 2 episodes. Thank you for your insight. Did you think the cast and crew did justice to the webtoon?
