Seeing the costumes, I can't quite figure out what era does this show supposed to be based on. Or is it more like a fictional universe a la alchemy of souls?
this was cool, but it's funny how they went with rock concept without the actual rocker of the group XD
Yeah, I am aware he's busy with his current project. I'm just pointing out the missed opportunity. That aside, I also wonder who was the girl sitting between LSS and WYZ in the group photo, was it maggie huang?
Is it me or did LYN did a full glow up as the drama progress? 😆 By the end of it no man in here was more attractive…
And to think that he was injured during the shoot, it must have been a great deal to act while hiding the pain, and he still managed to look that good.
Did I miss sth, or are we still waiting for a reason why grandpa was insisting on Tae Ha's marriage? Considering…
I keep questioning that too, considering it's one of the main source of conflict. So far, the only reason i could think of is just to show how much grandpa wants to control taeha's life. Having a control over taeha's love life would mean the possibility of the past (where taeha's dad being in love to the point of abandoning his inheritance) repeating itself could be avoided. He accepted yeonwoo at the beginning because he thought she's just a bumbling fool that's not going to hinder his plan. Little did he know...
I think, this is one of the show that's best to be watched back to back. I've been holding myself back until ep…
... I wish this show didn't take the easy way and make yeonwoo take the noble idiocy path. And I would not forgive them if they close this with an open ending. I have been hurt enough this year by cowardly writing that refuse to give a definite answer. If they're pulling a 'this has been all a dream' card, I will riot.
I think, this is one of the show that's best to be watched back to back. I've been holding myself back until ep 10 came out and now i'm done marathoning. So far everything feels pretty cohesive. Every character has purpose and their own development, and the mystery part is actually baked into the core of the story instead of being shoved to disrupt the main story, kinda reminds me of rooftop prince where it also slowly reveals what happened in the past instead of leaving it as a background story. And it's actually interesting to root for leads that actually wants us to root for them. I wish *tbc on spoiler
this will be an unpopular opinion but song kang is not a fit actor for this role. they did wrong with picking…
I also find it weird that his acting is somehow not working for me here. He has shown in his other role that he's able to show micro expressions and subtle emotions. But here he seems to be reduced to a somewhat, caricature character(?). Maybe it's the way the character is written (he's supposedly a few hundred years old but always seems frantic and rather childish)? Or there's some problem with the directing? Either way, I don't hate him as an actor, just that i think this would not add a good mark for his resume.
You know what, six realms hall's uniform does look hot, but doesn't seem like it provides any meaningful protection, especially during a freaking war. Everytime i saw them fight i was like 'why don't they wear any armor???? I guess they're better equipped for travelling/sleuthing but not so much for combat?
um hey, can you explain why are people being angry at MDL?
Oh, I was confused too. The banner on Prime also mentioned it as part 1 and part 2, but I suppose they're not different seasons so, more like one season being released on two chunks? I haven't watched the show btw so I'm still contemplating whether I should watch this now. But then i found out that there's going to be part 2, so should I wait for this too? ^^; Thanks for the explanation btw!
Even until now this discussion is still hot and filled with nasty things on weibo. I want to see the opinion here...Personally,…
I personally think Ning Yuanzhou's character has a lot of potentials, but the writer sort of forget about him by the middle of the story. A lot of background information about him was packed into the first 5 or so episodes, but then it was never really explored again. Save for that one bit (that is still unexplained!) about his disguises during his mission in An State.
He's a green flag through and through which makes him feels unrealistic in this story universe. But that's what makes us drawn into him, so I'm not going to complain. In a world saturated with toxic overbearing CEO male lead, it can't hurt to have more of NYZs out there. His development was going from a solitary, apathetic, 30-something war veteran to be sort of a father figure, a glue that brings people to move forward together. Sure, I would like for his background and old struggles to be fleshed out more. But for the purpose of this story, it works well enough for me.
Now I need them to drop Prisoner of Beauty. At least I know that ending is good.
the trailer is still up on wetv and they keep saying it's coming soon... I think they're still hoping to be able to actually air this (especially because LYN's recent rise of popularity). Otherwise why don't they just remove it from the site and stop giving us hope *shrugs*
I think it is very clear that everyone died. None of them could have survived the fatal injuries they were dealt.…
Tbh i don't even think the 'internal skill' or 'cultivation' part of wuxia drama is that realistic either. But, having been a drama watcher for 10+ years, (even though I've just started getting into Cdramas this year) I've learned to have a little dose of suspension of disbelief each time starting a new drama. Mostly if anything still works within the universe (i.e. they didn't contradict themselves and things stay consistent throughout the story), i can still accept whatever sh*t they thrown at me XD
That being said, I so agree that there's just no way they can stay alive after being stabbed from multiple direction, and being blown by that big of an explosion. What I understand from the miracle saving pills was, it works like a poison neutralizer, but not for physical wounds.
The last scene exist solely for the purpose to appease viewers, so it's intentionally made ambiguous. Bonus point for creating extra discussion thread just for the ending. If anyone going to complain, the writer can just shrug and use the 'it's open to interpretation' card.

Thanks for the explanation btw!
