Character wise, i have no problem with how he's depicted (okay maybe i have problems but i can kinda get where he's coming from) . My problem is with how long the story needs to drag his psychotic episodes. The thing i love most about this drama is that it doesn't dwell on things for too long, they always make quick but logical and effective resolution to every conflicts so far. But, compared to other arcs so far, we spent more time dealing with his obsession and it's getting old and repetitive. I just hope he got dealt with quickly so we can actually build good rapport on him and then move on to other things.

Finding this article at the end of 2023 as I am currently watching his latest drama. Thanks for writing such an extensive introduction article about Liu Yuning! He sounds like such a sweet and hardworking guy, really appreciate that such a rare type of public figure like him still exists. He can be such a great role model for the younger audiences. I am also surprised that his actual fans called him Boss Ning, cause it's also how his squad on 'a journey to love' called him. On that note, his character on that drama feels like it's tailor made for him and that makes him extra endearing for me. I hope he'll continue to rise after this, cause he totally deserves all the recognition that he gets.

I noticed that too and it happens several times throughout the story. I was weirded out a bit cause that makes the editing feels inconsistent. Also did you notice the ppt-core transition in the latter episodes too? It's sooo funny and it takes me out a bit from the story cause it's so random and it happened during a serious moment too XD

I'm not here to preach that the empress was a perfect angelic figure like ruyi has been picturing in her mind all this time. And i'm not here to argue whatever politics happened behind her death. I think people has been missing my point and i'm just confused whether my english is so bad that i can not clearly convey what i mean ^^; Fam, i was just saying that, it's a bit weird for them for not coming to the conclusion that the emperor was involved in the empress' death much earlier because her final words sounds like too big of a clue to be missed.

I think we have established that the empress was in despair at her last moments. Coherence was probably the last thing in her priority. The kid part, i think, wasn't necessarily means that she was proud of her own son therefore wanting ruyi to have one too. It's more like, her last wish for ruyi not to be lonely. A child, at the very least, would anchor her to a more stable life, instead of focusing on her bloody quests. But this has been discussed few episodes back, i think. My point is, to put emphasis on the "not fall in love easily" part. She was just making sure that ruyi was not going to put her trust into the wrong man (like she did, and end up being betrayed by her husband).
This li tong guan's psychotic episodes starts getting a bit too draggy for my liking. Meanwhile, main couple (and the budding second couple) stays wholesome as usual. I'm surpised thay it's a surprise for them that the emperor had something to do with the empress death. I mean, if the empress final words 'don't fall in love to any men easily' wasn't a dead giveaway then i don't know what else. Then again i suppose ruyi was just being in denial.
Finally done catching up to the latest episode, not without countless iteration of fist-biting and air punching because i just can not contain myself. I am sorry but who allows a spy-assasin story to be this cute?! How does one just simply form one of the most healthy relationship i've ever seen on dramaland by combining an assasin and a spy and a killing-machine troop; it's just insanity. This is a recipe for angsty toxic relationship and tragic ending for most dramas and yet! All that i feel throughout watching this is just wholesomeness. The only blip in the whole ensemble is just that one psychotic marquis. I sure hope he would manage to shed his obsession in the future episodes. Now that i've gotten to the point that i have to wait for the next episodes (oh, the agony), i hope this continues to progress swimmingly, and then we will finally get the best drama of 2023 to close the year on a good note👍

I hope she can get rid of him by the next episode otherwise i'll riot.
